Hotel Amalfitana

"Stayed for 2 nights while visiting Pisa and Florence. Firstly, the positives.. the hotel is very close to the tower and some lovely bars and restaurants. But overall the hotel is extremely dated and tatty. Hard bed and dirty shower. It’s ok for a night or two but go with low expectations."

"We booked this hotel because it was fairly near to the airport and we had to travel onto Florence the next morning. We advised the hotel we would be late checking in due to flight iMessage. There was someone there when we checked in at 10pm.. an ok’d man and it took him a long time to check us in. I don think he could see the screen/passports properly. He also gave us wring directions to our room, when you’re coming off a long flight, this is not ideal. However, their breakfast was their saving grace. €3 pp for coffee, juice and a croissant. We had to wait ages though and flag down a member of staff to be sereved though.."

"So we booked this as a stop over to visit to visit pisa before flying home the next day . On several booking websites this property is classed as 3 star … it is not it is two star!! However location is excellent being literally just a 5 minute walk from The main tourist sites and where there are many l restaurants to chose from . Hotel is aged looks likely somewhere the hotel inspector should visit! don’t be put off by the exterior it is surprisingly clean and staff we did encounter were very friendly , family room was very basic not somewhere you would linger just adequate to shower and sleep air con was a bonus we didn’t bother with breakfast as had an early trip to airport"
