Grand Hotel Bonanno

"We stayed for about a week. The hotel was fairly modern and the room was clean. Staff were certainly helpful. What let it down was the food. There was no vegetarian option for the prepaid evening meals. It was limited to a main course of red meat each day, with a salad or soup option and a dessert. I would have expected a better variety of choice and no fish was offered. The bread at breakfast was stale every day. Another point was that the kitchen was understaffed and they took a long time to dish out the food."

"We stayed for 4 nights in October. The hotel is in a great location - 20 minutes from the tower - 30 from the central train station . Cost €20 in a taxi from the airport. Room was basic and clean and had everything you needed . A little noisy from time to time but nothing too bad. Beds are hard - but again nothing unusual for mainland Europe. Breakfast again was ok - always something to eat . Not sure why people have such negative reviews. Staff are not the warmest - no acknowledgment on entering or leaving the whole time we stayed ! But on the last day happy for us to leave our cases and hang around in the reception for a hour or so before a taxi to the airport. Which was appreciated as it was pouring ! It’s not 4 star - but a solid 3 and we would stay again 😊"

"Please do not book this hotel just because it is advertised as a 4 star property. It was one of the dirtiest hotels I have ever stayed in. The carpets were absolutely disgusting, and the overall condition of the room was extremely disappointing. We were also very concerned about safety.Our room was downstairs, at the end of the corridor, and had a balcony door that felt extremely flimsy and could easily be opened from the outside. This made us feel very unsafe during our stay. We asked the hotel staff to change our room, but they were unpleasant, unhelpful, and showed very little concern for our worries. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The reality of the property was nowhere near what we expected from a 4-star hotel.I will be attaching pictures of the carpets so that other travellers can see the actual condition of the hotel before making a booking. Please think twice before booking this hotel. Based on our experience, it was extremely disappointing, unhygienic, and left us feeling unsafe."
