Bagni di Pisa Palace and Thermal Spa

"Historic and imposing 18th-century building, in a state of semi-abandonment! This beautiful historic residence is unfortunately in a state of semi-abandonment in every part of it. Total absence of international-caliber management. They still keep the “The Leading Hotels of the World” logo displayed … but this is not true!! If you check the The Leading Hotels of the World website, you will see that they are no longer part of it. Indoor and outdoor pools with broken lounge chairs, destroyed umbrellas, detached pool tiles, peeling walls everywhere, water jets that do not work as they are in an evident state of oxidation, storage rack lacking security keys. Dark and noisy rooms. Room bathroom shower with damaged glass door. During the shower, the whole bathroom floods. Cleanliness of the rooms, precarious. The property requires a huge investment to return to the splendors of the past; obviously in this precarious situation, even the staff appears poorly motivated and with unprofessional attitudes. The exception is the restaurant with excellent cuisine, kind waiters who also reappear at breakfast in the morning, with a good selection of products. Overall rating: this property in its current state cannot exceed 3 stars, but watch out, they charge like a 5-star!!"

"We stayed 2 nights at the fantastic Bagni di Pisa location; the property and the atmosphere are definitely premium, but there are some considerations to make: - the room is very nice and certainly spacious, but you cannot pass off a double bed if the mattress is actually made of two singles pushed together (they tended to separate during the night). - the property is beautiful, but it is a real shame to see that some routine maintenance work is not being carried out, for example, missing parts of mosaic in the pools, some whirlpool tubs not working, we were informed that the Turkish bath was out of order, and other small details that would take very little to fix. - I also found it very unfair to introduce a service charge of €15 directly on the bill at check-out. We were informed that it was actually an optional charge and therefore could have been avoided, but it puts the customer in an unpleasant position. Positive note for the very kind and helpful staff."
