"As a Titanium Elite member with Marriott Bonvoy, I've spent hundreds of nights at Marriott-branded hotels in locations around the world. Of all the Marriott properties I've visited, the Moxy Pompeii will always hold a special place in my heart.
Our stay was completely unexpected. My wife was medically disembarked from our cruise ship and spent more than two weeks hospitalized in Naples following emergency surgery. What was supposed to be a vacation suddenly became one of the most difficult experiences our family has ever faced. We ended up staying at the Moxy Pompeii for just over three weeks. For the first two weeks, it was just my 16-year-old son and me. Once my wife was discharged from the hospital, she was able to join us for the final eight days of our stay.
From the very first day, the entire staff made us feel like family rather than guests. They welcomed us with genuine warmth, answered every question we had, made sure we had the right room accommodations as our situation changed, and helped us navigate everything from train schedules and rental cars to flights, pharmacies, and countless other logistics. No request was ever too small, and they were always eager to help.
What made this stay truly unforgettable wasn't just the exceptional service—it was the compassion. Every day they asked how my wife was doing, wanted updates on her recovery, and celebrated every bit of progress with us. They even prepared meals that weren't on the menu to accommodate her restricted diet as she recovered. More than anything, they became friends who listened, encouraged us, and helped carry us through one of the hardest chapters of our lives.
To the incredible team—Maria, Alessandra, Antonio, Annachiara, Carmela, Federica, Luca, Massimo, Orlando, and Sara—thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness, compassion, and generosity will never be forgotten. You made an impossible situation so much more bearable, and our family will always be grateful for everything you did for us.
The hotel itself is outstanding. Since it has only been open a little over a year, everything still feels fresh, modern, and exceptionally well maintained. Our original room was perfect for my son and me, and when my wife joined us after leaving the hospital, the staff moved us into a spacious three-person room. It featured a comfortable king bed for us and an incredibly well-cushioned sleeper chair for my son that was far better than a typical sofa bed. Even with six suitcases, we had plenty of storage and room to move around comfortably.
The amenities were equally impressive. The restaurant and bar are, in my opinion, among the best I've experienced at any Moxy property. During our three-week stay, I think we managed to try almost everything on the menu, and every meal was excellent. I highly recommend the flatbread pizza and the hamburger. Having Maximall right next door was another huge advantage, with numerous shopping and dining options, a grocery store, a pharmacy, and the nightly fountain show, which became one of our favorite ways to unwind after long days at the hospital.
Whether you're visiting Pompeii for a few nights or need a place for an extended stay, I cannot recommend the Moxy Pompeii highly enough. Outstanding facilities are easy to find, but genuine kindness is rare. The people at the Moxy Pompeii gave us both.
Thank you again for everything you did for our family. We arrived as guests, but we left feeling like part of your family. We look forward to seeing all of you again someday under much happier circumstances."
