"A disappointing experience — and a serious management problem My disappointment with ibis Styles Milano Centro is not primarily about the room, the upgrade, the balcony, or the late check-out. I understand perfectly well that these requests are subject to availability. What ultimately ruined my experience was the conduct of the Room Division Manager, Mr. Andrea Parrottino, and the way a simple guest concern was handled. On the day of check-out, when I asked about the possibility of a late check-out, I was met with the dismissive response “So what?” Whether the request could be accommodated or not, this is not the kind of response a guest should receive from hotel staff. I subsequently communicated my disappointment to the hotel. Instead of simply explaining the hotel’s position and closing the matter professionally, Mr. Parrottino’s correspondence became increasingly personal. He described my reaction as “Typical!”, criticised the way I supposedly treated staff, quoted John 8:7 in response to my complaint, and ultimately ended his email with “Have a good life.” That is not hospitality. That is not professionalism. And it is certainly not the standard I associate with the Accor brand. What makes this even more concerning is that, after my experience, I took the time to read a considerable number of reviews of this property. I noticed a recurring theme in the negative feedback, with several complaints specifically referring to the same manager and issues involving the way guests were treated. I am deliberately not claiming that every negative review has the same circumstances as mine. However, when a guest personally experiences an issue and then discovers that similar concerns about the same member of management appear repeatedly in previous reviews, it raises a legitimate question about whether this is an isolated incident or a management issue that deserves proper attention. Hotels are perfectly entitled to say “No.” A request being unavailable is not, by itself, poor service. What matters is how that “No” is communicated. A Room Division Manager should be setting the standard for guest relations, not escalating a complaint into a personal exchange and characterising a dissatisfied guest as “Typical.” I have already escalated this matter to Accor because I believe it deserves review beyond the hotel itself. One employee—particularly someone in a senior management position—can have a disproportionate impact on the reputation of an entire property and, ultimately, the brand. I will not be returning to this hotel. The issue was never simply that the answer was “No.” It was the manner in which that “No” was delivered—and what followed when I dared to express my disappointment."

"I’ll be honest, even giving this place a single star feels generous. Avoid this hotel if you value your privacy, safety, or decent customer care. We were put in a room with a balcony we hadn't even asked for. While marketed as "private," it was actually accessible to any guest or staff member on the property. We felt we had to keep the blinds shut tight for the entire duration of our trip. To make matters worse, the front desk response was awful. When we brought this up, the receptionist was openly hostile, condescending, and completely unhelpful. Instead of addressing a legitimate concern, he just made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable. We are the customers after all. At £250 for a two-night stay, this was a massive waste of money. Poor service, zero privacy, and a total lack of security. Do yourself a favor and book somewhere else."

"I would not recommend staying here under any circumstances. This place doesn't even deserve one star. Our room came with a balcony that we hadn't booked. The hotel advertised it as a private balcony, but it was anything but private. Anyone staying at or working in the hotel could access it, meaning people could walk right past our patio doors and look directly into our room. It made us feel extremely unsafe, and we ended up keeping the blinds closed for our entire stay because we had no privacy at all. When we raised our concerns with the member of staff at reception, he was incredibly rude and dismissive. His attitude was hostile, and he spoke to us in a very unpleasant, sarcastic tone instead of trying to resolve the issue. There was no effort to try and understand where we were coming from and made us feel very uncomfortable. Paying £250 for two nights was nowhere near good value for money. Between the lack of privacy, feeling unsafe, and the poor customer service, this stay was a huge disappointment. I would strongly recommend avoiding this hotel."
