Ai Suma Hotel

"This hotel had a few problems. We stayed 3 nights and our first night the plumbing in our room was making loud noises all night waking us up numerous times. The staff changed our room to an “accessible” room for the next 2 nights. The bathroom shower in this room was not enclosed, with only a shower curtain. This caused the floor to be wet all around the toilet and a big puddle around the shower. The hotel is not really visible from the street, there are no signs, and there is a large wooden gate that closes the entrance after around 6pm. If you arrive at night, you will have to punch in a code on the keypad to tell the front desk to open the door on the gate. The checkin desk is on the 2nd floor and it is not obvious that it is up there and how to get there. If you arrive when it is still light, look up at the windows where google maps indicates where the address is and you will see the Ai Suma written on them. Otherwise, the staff was really nice and the breakfast was ok if you got there when it first started."

"We spent four nights at the Ai Suma hotel. We arrived pretty much right on the check-in time, and were checked in really quickly. We were given key information from the receptionist and then went to our room. The hotel is on the first floor - there is a small lift if you have lots of luggage, or can't manage the stairs. Although we did get a bit stuck in it late one night, so decided to take the stairs after that! We had a room facing the courtyard. It was spacious and comfortable, with a king size bed and a good size bathroom. The location was great - only a couple of stops on the metro to the Duomo, and well served by trams as well. It was nice to be outside of the bustle of the centre, but also very close to it. There is a supermarket very close to the hotel for supplies if needed. Breakfast was included in our stay, and the selection was excellent. Everyone was catered for, and the best selection of juices I have seen in a hotel. The pear juice was my favourite. Be warmed if you go to breakfast within the 30 minutes before closing - they tend not to replenish anything that late, so be early if you want to choose from everything. All the staff we interacted with were lovely. I would absolutely consider staying here if I visit Milan again."

"Stayed for one night. Last minute booking which was good value. Good location easy to walk to ( it is a good 20-25 mins from the main train station and approx 20 mins to walk from hotel to Duomo) but also can be reached with metro. The reception (located on 1st floor) was polite and the hotel easy to find. There is a supermarket in the corner which is also ideal. The room was clean and comfortable, the mattress and pillows good standard. Complimentary toilets were a nice surprise. The breakfast was good and overall it was a pleasant stay, would happily stay again when visiting Milano."
