"I stayed, solo traveller, November-2025 in one of the 8 apartments that have a separate entrance from the street beside the entrance to reception. I arrived early before midday and after a short wait my room was ready and the male receptionist was helpful, courteous, efficient and had perfect English, as was the checkout staff.
The 1-bed apartment was clean, modern, spacious although the bathroom had a bad smell from the drains which I solved by opening the tilting window (after I found a key). I could hear noise from the street at night but earplugs solved that problem. The bed was firm and comfortable.
Very convenient location for Navigli and Duomo (20mins by tram) and south-central Milan, and metro M2 and trams lines10 and 14 stop beside the hotel. For people who want to be near a supermarket there is a new LIDL supermarket around the corner (couple of minutes walk). For people who want fast-food there is a late-opening Burger King next door, plus various pizza/pasta places right outside the hotel and other restaurants a short walk nearby, and at least two coffee shops within a few minutes walk. For people with luggage coming from Linate via M4, the more step-free access is to exit M4 at De Amicis, take the elevator or escalator up to the street, then take Tram 14 southbound at the nearby stop to get off at Solari stop outside the hotel (which is 3 stops later). Otherwise the transit change between M4 and M2 at San Ambrogio involves a lot more walking and a lot more steps up and down that are hostile for large luggage.
A negative was the claimed "fully equipped" kitchen which was inadequate, (and easily fixable by Accor). There was no teapot (unthinkable for tea drinkers), no drinking glasses for wine or juice, only a *single* spoon/knife/fork/teaspoon, a single ceramic cup, a single plate/bowl etc! Minimalism to the extreme for no real cost saving. No microwave. No cleaning utensils or dishwashing soap. The Electric-kettle did not work but reception resolved that on the same day which was really helpful. The cooker (old slow hotplates) and oven and capsule coffee-machine and refrigerator all worked well. There was only a single English-language TV channel (France24 rolling news), no BBC, no CNN etc which is poor for international visitors. Accor should improve these inexpensive aspects of the kitchen equipment and TV channel choice for English speaking visitors..
So if you are thinking of the apartment rooms at the Solari, this should help you decide.
Despite the kitchen shortcomings, I would use these Solari apartments again."
