What Hotel Da Vinci Milano has to offer
The Last Supper
No trip to Milan would be complete without a visit to one of the world’s most famous paintings. Da Vinci’s The Last Supper is a 40-minute journey by public transport from the hotel, and it’s not to be missed. Preserved within the stunning Basilica Santa Maria delle Grazie, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it’s the work of one of the most influential figures in the history of art. Seeing it in person is simply breathtaking.
The Duomo
Hop on the Metro just outside the hotel for a direct train to Milan’s Duomo, the largest and most complex gothic building in Italy. With 135 spires and over 3,000 statues, it took almost six centuries to build, with the finishing touches only put in place in 1965. Take a stroll around the cathedral’s terraces for magnificent views of the city.
Shopping
Milan is often referred to as the world’s fashion capital, so if shopping is your thing, you’re in the right place. If you’re already planning to visit the Duomo, head to the nearby Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, which is the world’s oldest shopping mall. After that, you can pop to the Quadrilatero della Moda, or ‘Fashion Square’, and Corso Como, where Milan’s fashion and nightlife come together. Then there’s Corso Buenos Aires, where you’ll find the highest concentration of high street fashion outlets in Europe. You’ll be spoilt for choice!
