Golden Milano Hotel

"Before arriving, I contacted the hotel because I had unfortunately broken my ankle after booking and temporarily needed to use a wheelchair. I specifically asked if the hotel would still be suitable, and I was told there were only five steps followed by a lift. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the lift was far too small to fit a wheelchair, making the hotel inaccessible for me. Had I been given accurate information, I would never have travelled there, it’s clear to any one that a wheelchair would not fit into this lift. To make matters worse, the room was not as advertised. There were stains on the toilet cistern, signs of water damage on the walls, and the overall condition was disappointing compared to the photos on the website. I was told not to disrespect the cleaners by the manager but it has to be noted this hotel has extensive wear and tear that’s not published on the website. When we raised our concerns, instead of trying to help, the manager was rude, dismissive, and called us “childish” and “time wasters.” No attempt was made to find a solution or offer even a partial refund. We were left with no choice but to book emergency accommodation elsewhere, leaving us significantly out of pocket. Accidents happen, and I understand my injury occurred after booking. However, what I cannot accept is being given misleading information about accessibility, being treated disrespectfully when we asked for help, and being left to pay for another hotel because this one was not suitable. Only person with a sensible head on his shoulders is the guy at check in as he was extremely professional unlike his boss."

"The cleanest, most comfortable, excellent location. We really enjoyed our time there, also very affordable for Milan prices. It's extremely well connected. The only thing for improvement is the wifi, it's not the best and comes and goes."
