We initially stayed at the Marriott Hotel from August 31 to September 2, where we received excellent service and the accommodation met our expectations. Because the Marriott was fully booked, we reserved a room at B&B Hotel Milano Portello from September 2 to September 5. After arriving at B&B Hotel Milano Portello and seeing the room and overall conditions, we decided not to stay. We did not spend a single night in the room and were at the hotel for less than one hour. We immediately made alternative arrangements at the Sheraton Hotel, at a higher cost, where the service and accommodation were excellent. For a total cost of approximately CAD 1,000—more than CAD 300 per night—I felt that the hotel offered poor value and did not meet the standard I expected based on the online presentation. In my view, the photographs and description on the website did not adequately reflect what we encountered on site. I understand that I selected a non-refundable rate, and I accept responsibility for that decision. However, because we did not use the accommodation at all, I contacted the hotel and requested a full refund or, at minimum, a reasonable partial refund as a goodwill gesture. The manager offered no flexibility and declined any refund or alternative resolution. This review reflects my personal experience. I encourage future guests to examine the listing details carefully, compare the price with other options, and understand that the hotel’s non-refundable policy appears to be applied strictly, even when a guest leaves immediately after arrival."
