Hotel Leonardo Da Vinci

"Felt the need to review due to many negative commments. We travelled as a family and overall felt that this was a comfortable family stay with lots to do and a good variety of food. My family were very happy. Staff are excellent in their service. Highlights include clean pool and sauna, kids loved playing pool downstairs, buffet food had something for everyone and the entertainment in the evening was good. Shuttle bus is ideal for lovely limone. I recommend renting bikes nearby (reception will show you two places along the road). You can bike all the way to the cyclopista but you will have to push your bike through busy Limone, so perhaps decide to go early in the morning. To improve: most bits are minor, for the money we paid we were really happy on value for money. Rooms are dated and a but dark (but very clean) and the bar area has a lack of seating in the evening, although this may have been due to big German coach party groups taking up the seats all evening (they seemed to get there very early each evening. Others comments about cold food, long walks to rooms and rude staff were totally unfounded for me. Lastly, the views from the room are breathtaking. If you have a good price then take a punt on the hotel, you won't be disappointed."

"Very satisfactory and enjoyable stay. Admittedly parts of the hotel were a little dated, but the setting, meals, drinks selection, comfort and staff welcome were excellent. The courtesy bus service into Limone was regular and very reliable. No complaints from me or my family."

"Firstly this is not a 4* hotel. We would say 2* at best. The biggest issue here is the food. It is terrible. We aren't fussy eaters but there is a limit. Breakfast cold. Stodge dinners (also cold). Cold vegetables on the salad bar (sprouts peas sweetcorn carrots). Cold meats and cheese ok. The food is put into chaffing dishes and then they aren’t put on to keep the food hot. !!! No traditional Italian food. All the rooms are ‘superior’ rooms. The views are amazing. The whole place is spotless but very tired. Everything stops on 21st September so only the main pool open. Air con turned off. Only the main buffet open. The reception/concierge staff are RUDE. Germans get priority. Restaurant staff are great. Mini bus into Limone is a great perk. We ate out every day as there are so many fab little restaurants. We would recommend Buffalo Grill which is a 5 minute walk from Leonardo da Vinci … worth every penny!!! Vast contrast from the hotel food."
