Excelsior Splendide

"We stayed with another couple who had stayed here before and were very happy with what the hotel provided. We both had rooms at the front with balconies looking over the lake and terminals and bars. That was a major part of the experience which we enjoyed (although a little noisy perhaps it was well worth it). I am not sure I would be so keen to stay without that view. It is not a five star hotel so the furnishings and room size may be a bit small and dated but we wanted to say how good the staff were. They had plenty of suggestions, gave us a prime table opposite the hotel for drinks, checked with the local police to make sure that the running race on the day we were leaving wouldn't affect our route, and let us grab some food early from the breakfast room to take with us on our early departure. A thank you to all the staff who looked after us!"

"Very nice hotel. Clean rooms. Nice breakfast buffet. We had a front facing room with a lovely view of Lake Como. Very friendly front desk staff especially Gloria. She is so sweet and helpful."

"Hotel Excelsior Splendide was everything I expected it to be and more after reading the reviews. Yes it was a 3 star hotel, rooms probably basic but very clean, we had a lake view which was amazing. Breakfast was continental, my husband said that’s the best bacon he’s had since being in Florida. Honestly I can’t fault this hotel. The location was excellent, the staff were brilliant and so friendly. Key fobs were huge and we just took our keys off the fob!! We had a fabulous time."
