Ischia’s spa-side escape
Set just outside Sant’Angelo, one of Ischia’s prettiest seaside villages, Borgo Romantica Resort and Spa is made for slow, sun-warmed exploring. Wander down towards the village for pastel buildings, waterfront cafés and little boats bobbing in the bay, or head to nearby Cava Grado Beach for a swim with a view. You’re also well placed for thermal springs, coastal walks and scenic island adventures, with the free shuttle making the local area even easier to dip into.
The big draw here is the resort’s thermal park, set across lush private grounds with a collection of 13 pools, baths and thermal routes. There’s a wellness centre for treatments, a sauna, fitness corner and plenty of garden space for drifting between dips and do-nothing moments. Free Wi-Fi, parking and shuttle services add the practical polish, so the holiday admin stays nicely tucked away.
Dining is nicely varied, with three restaurants – all overlooking Sant'Angelo – and a snack bar in the thermal park for easy bites between swims. Sant’Angelo’s trattorias and seafood restaurants are close by, too, so you can end the day with pasta, sea views and a full-body exhale.
Just so you know, due to the location of this hotel and the number of steps around the property, it may be unsuitable for guests with reduced mobility or walking difficulties. The resort is on a hillside and access often requires walking uphill.
