The outdoor pool is an oasis of peace and quiet – not least because of the uninterrupted views of the Tyrrhenian Sea. But you don’t have to settle for being a spectator, as the hotel lays on a complimentary shuttle bus to whizz you up the coast to Citara Beach. Just a few steps back from the shore you’ll find the Poseidon Thermal gardens. Edged by greenery and home to thermal pools, seawater pools, and a thermal steam grotto, this place is a must-visit when you’re in Ischia.
Stay on the shuttle bus a little longer and it’ll drop you off in Forio, a port town that’s got plenty of buzz about it. With another beach, and a whole host of bars and restaurants dishing up authentic Italian eats, you’d do well to spend an afternoon or two exploring the town.
But tucked away into the greenery of Hotel Grazia alla Scannella is another peaceful space. Called the Aromatherapy Garden, it's where you'll find a heated hydromassage tub and something known as a Kneipp path –a type of hydrotherapy designed to improve blood circulation and boast the immune system. And that's not to mention the array of aromatic plants – including lavender, rosemary, and bay leaf – that invite you to breath in and enjoy the alluring fragrances.
You'll also find a relaxing spa is tucked away inside, with an indoor pool, Turkish bath, sensory shower, and a well-stocked gym. And if that’s not enough to find your inner zen, why not book onto one of the yoga classes that’s run by the hotel?
Once you’ve worked up an appetite, the buffet restaurant will be on hand with a spread of Italian and international fare. If you’re heading into Forio for a bite, line up your dinner with the shuttle schedule and you won’t even need a taxi – the last one leaves town for the hotel at 23:30, so you might even have time for a drink or two before you call it a night.
Your journey will include a transfer from Naples Airport to the Port of Naples where you will wait for the next available ferry to take you to Ischia. You will be responsible for carrying your own luggage on and off the ferry which may include a flight of steps. The crossing will be approximately 60 mins. From there, you will take a transfer to your chosen accommodation. The same applies for your return journey. Please note that the total transfer time of approx 150 mins does not include your wait time for the ferry.
