Holiday Inn Salerno-Cava de' Tirreni

"It was a great location for the sights, very central. Hotel is drab and in an ugly part of town. Cava was very pleasant, very authentic town, but the hotel is a bit far from the center. Rooms were OK, I had a good rest, but as always in Italy, the tub showers left a lot to be desired... Too high and the whole floor got soaked every time I showered. Parking gets busy at night with all the tour buses. Breakfast should have been included, staff there are militant about charging you for it, which is annoying. Just include it on the room cost and charge a bit more. Overall an OK stay, nowhere beautiful to stay but since I was alone, it did the trick."

"Definitely not the best Holiday Inn at all! Frankly, the worst one I've ever stayed in. The rooms are shabby and grim, the breakfast is even worse. Location is good in terms of easy drives to Pompeii and Naples."

"Coming into Rome we chose this hotel as our first night before we continued on the next day to see family. We had such a nice relaxing night in this hotel! It was worth it. It made everything so much easier for the next day. Everything was comfortable the bed was comfortable. It was just so nice. We had a very, very nice breakfast and then went on our way. If you’re gonna be traveling through to Naples, or heading down to the southern part of Italy and you’re coming into Rome and you just want a place to go this hotel is perfect! Absolute value for the price we paid for our room. Also good to know for any of your newbie travelers, when they say double bed it’s actually a queen size bed. And if you ask them for extra towels and pillows, they are more than accommodating!"
