A majestic cliffside sanctuary in Conca dei Marini

Sculpted into the cliffside of Monte San Pancrazio in Conca dei Marini, Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa is an instantly beguiling sight for the eyes. It was originally built as a monastery in the 17th Century, and has lost none of its old-world elegance in the years that followed.

Cascading down from the main building are several tiers of landscaped gardens leading to one of the hotel’s most celebrated features – an infinity pool that blends effortlessly into the Mediterranean sea. The view here is dramatic to say the least, and, quite possibly, one of the best you’ll find on the Amalfi Coast.

WHAT'S INCLUDED?

Hotel highlights

A Michelin Star is the gold standard when it comes to first-class cuisine. And Il Refettorio restaurant at Monastero Santa Rosa has more than earned its own for a creative yet mouthwatering twist on regional flavours. Expect exquisitely crafted tasting menus showcasing the freshest seafood and ingredients sourced from local suppliers.

For lighter bites that are no less flavourful, head to the Mezzogiorno Pool Café. Where fresh salads and pasta dishes are enjoyed over a glass of your favourite tipple.

Not your average chill-out den, the hotel spa’s stellar reputation for relaxation has featured in such high-profile publications as Tatler magazine. Take a step in and it’s easy to see why – it’s one-of-a-kind design includes a series of inter-connected rooms and spa suites featuring arched doorways, rustic décor, and high-vaulted ceilings that loom far above your head.

But for something just a little bit different. How about heading outside? The Treatment Garden means you can enjoy a skin-tingling massage or other wellness therapy in perfect tranquillity under the shade of a pergola. At this spa, there’s something to discover around every corner.

Perched high above the Mediterranean Sea and just a 10-minute drive from Amalfi, the setting here is secluded but never feels isolating. Despite its cliffside setting, the Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa’ s surrounded by finely maintained gardens occupying several levels leading down to the cliff’s edge. The result is a head-turning locale that’ll have you frequently reaching for your camera phone for the next amazing snap.

Whether you’re spread out on one of the canopied day beds, pushed up against the water’s edge in the infinity pool, or simply pottering around the hotel’s organic garden, a moment spent on the Amalfi Coast is never a moment wasted.

The organic gardens. It's a place rich with volcanic soil that helps grow the vegetables and fruits used in much of the hotel’s cooking. Commitment to fresh ingredients isn’t just a catchphrase around here. It’s a promise.

The air of romance. Whether enjoying a Michelin-starred meal on the terrace of Ristorante Il Refettorio or peering out from the pool shoulder to shoulder, this place is hard to beat for a romantic retreat.

The always on-display wine cellar. It contains some of the finest vintages this side of the Amalfi Coast and wine snobs are going to love it. Ask the sommelier for the perfect pairing to go with you dinner.
