Cetara Holidays

A laid-back fishing village

Nestled along the Amalfi Coast, Cetara is a charming fishing village known for its authentic Italian atmosphere, stunning sea views, and world-famous food scene, including its anchovies and red tuna. Unlike its busier neighbours, Cetara offers a peaceful retreat with narrow streets, pastel-coloured houses, and a picturesque harbour.

The town’s a paradise for seafood lovers, with local restaurants serving the region’s best anchovy-based dishes and freshly caught tuna. A must-try is “colatura di alici”, a traditional anchovy sauce used in pasta dishes and even drizzled on pizza. For a relaxed experience in the evenings, you can enjoy a meal at one of the seafront trattorias while soaking in the coastal views.

If you love a good beach, you’ll appreciate the small but beautiful Spiaggia di Cetara, which is perfect for swimming and sunbathing. If adventures are more your thing, hiking trails connect Cetara to nearby coastal towns, offering incredible panoramas. And if you’ve got time to delve into the local area’s rich history, a visit to the 16th-century Saracen Tower provides a glimpse into the village’s past.

With its relaxed charm, fresh seafood, and scenic beauty, Cetara is a perfect destination if you’re looking to experience the authentic side of the Amalfi Coast away from the crowds. Whether you’re exploring, dining, or simply enjoying the view, this lovely little fishing village promises a memorable and tranquil Italian escape.
