"Arriving late after a delayed flight into Naples, our transfer driver had ascertained that the hotel restaurant would have finished service by the time we arrived in Amalfi. We made a phone call to the hotel, answered we later found out by Francesco, which set the tone for our stay. He was courteous, spoke excellent English, and assured us that to provide some cold plates of salad to be in our room when we arrived would be “no trouble at all”. And when my wife and I arrived, he greeted us warmly, provided us with a refreshing drink while he dealt with the formalities of checking in efficiently, and then showed us to our room with minimum fuss, ensuring our cases were delivered quickly, so we could settle in and rest. The salad was delicious. From then on, our ten-night stay was an absolute delight. All the staff of this family run hotel made our holiday a relaxing and comfortable time, by giving us our space and providing any support as needed. From delivering a jug of cold milk to our room, so we could enjoy a cup of tea, to organising and arranging a car with a driver to take us to Herculaneum, even including booking our entry tickets for us, the staff made it clear they were there to ensure we loved Amalfi and Italian hospitality. Particular mention must go to the catering and serving staff. We were greeted cheerfully at breakfast each day; a meal which was relatively simple, but with a good variety of fresh local ingredients and other generic choices and served on the sun-soaked terrace overlooking the sea. However, a highlight of our time was the three evening meals we enjoyed in the same restaurant, created by the excellent unassuming Chef and her brigade. This was modern and original high level Cucina di Amalfi, each dish speaking of a love for the area and its produce and telling a story. The local wines too, curated and served by knowledgeable Sommelier Antonio, were outstanding. It was good during our stay to get the know the team here and across the hotel, and develop a mutual relaxed relationship, with genuine warmth and humour.  Although most days we walked into town and back, a short distance on the busy road and then down through the quiet Parco la Pineta to the quay, we used the dedicated hotel shuttle bus in the evenings. It was a useful, comfortable, and convenient two-minute ride to the centre of town, and always there whenever we needed it. The location of the hotel, away from the bustle of the town, is a recommendation. Our room, a standard room with a side sea view, was clean and quiet, and provided a good base from which to enjoy our daily activities and relax. We also used the roof-top pool and solarium, with its stunning panorama. Overall, modern, yet with artwork and artefacts displaying the culture and history of Amalfi, the ambience of the hotel was that rare combination of high-quality service with a friendly touch, efficient without being oppressive, intimate without being intrusive. We would recommend a stay here very highly."

"I recently stayed 4 nights at Hotel II Tipografo Di Amalfi. The entire hotel is beautiful. The location is central on the Amalfi cost. The views are amazing. The restaurant serves delicious food and an amazing morning breakfast. The hospitality was what made my stay so special. The front desk, drivers and managers were very welcoming and were always there to help. "My wife and I were in this wonderful hotel for 5 days! We can highly recommend this beautiful house to everyone who comes to Amalfi. Starting with the cleanliness and professionalism of the staff, to the beautiful room, and not to forget the wonderful and very GOOD FOOD at lunch and in the evening on the terrace!!!
