A cloistered Amalfi classic
Set in Amalfi, this hotel puts you close to the coast, the harbour and the town’s postcard-famous centre. Amalfi Cathedral is an easy stroll away, while the lanes around Piazza del Duomo are packed with cafés, little shops and lemon-scented corners made for pottering. You’re also well placed for boat trips along the coast, day trips to Ravello and scenic wanders towards neighbouring Atrani.
The hotel brings serious character, with roots as a former convent and a 13th-century cloister at its heart. It’s not all history, though. There’s an outdoor seawater pool and sun terrace built into the cliffside, with direct access to the sea, plus a garden, bar, lounge, 24-hour reception, luggage storage and free Wi-Fi. It’s the kind of place where a sightseeing day can turn into a swim-with-a-view evening very quickly.
Breakfast is served at La Veranda, where Amalfi Coast flavours come with big blue views. The hotel also has two panoramic restaurants, including Torre Saracena in a historic tower, while Amalfi’s seafood spots, pizzerias and gelaterias are close by. Ancient cloisters, coastal dips, limoncello at sunset – this one knows exactly how to do drama.
Just so you know, the swimming pool here opens from 01 May-30 October, and sea access is only reachable via 80 steps down a cliffside. Due to the location of this hotel and the number of steps around the property, it may be unsuitable for guests with reduced mobility or walking difficulties.
