"This was the last hotel of the 6th in Iceland. The hotel is a little hard to find as it blends in the other buildings where it’s located! I was happy to find the room was spacious, with even a large couch to sit on with a large closet. It had electronic keycards, which was a plus as two other hotels I stayed at in the capital had physical keys! Very clean and well maintained. The hotel offers a very basic breakfast but it was free so I can’t complain. They are very flexible and let me stay an extra hour past checkout which was kind of them as we weren’t leaving for the airport until 1230pm. Only downside was our room was next to a bar which was quite noisy but not too bad with the windows closed. If you are sensitive to noise, best to ask for a room that isn’t near the action. All in all, I would consider staying here again."

"We had a mixed stay at Hotel Frón. The biggest positive is the location, which is excellent — very central and ideal for exploring Reykjavík. The hotel and rooms were generally clean, and luggage storage was available, which was useful. Our first room was disappointing. It was dark and a bit dingy, and did not feel like the brighter, more modern studio apartment shown in the photos. Although it was generally clean, the shower was poor, with very low pressure and a black shower head. The main issue, however, was the noise. There was loud music from nearby bars, with vibrations through the walls until around 4am at the weekend, which made it very difficult to sleep. Reception was helpful and moved us to a different room, where we were able to stay for the rest of our visit. The second room, in an annexe at the back, was a big improvement — lighter, airier, quieter, more modern, and with a much nicer bathroom. We did lose the microwave, hob and sink when we moved, but it was worth it for a better room and a decent night’s sleep. Breakfast was fine overall, with fruit, dried fruit, cereal and continental options. The breakfast staff were efficient, although not especially warm, and on one busy morning the rolls were not replenished. Overall, this hotel has a great central location and was generally clean, but our experience showed that the quality between rooms can vary a lot. If you are staying here, it may be worth asking for a quieter room, especially at the weekend."
