A short stroll will take you to Lake Tjörnin – a delightful spot for a leisurely stroll – and the Settlement Museum, where you can delve into the city's past and learn all about its Viking heritage. The main shopping street, Laugavegur, is just 5-10 minutes away on foot, and you'll find an abundance of great options for eating and drinking out close by, including Pósthús – a buzzy food court inside what used to be the city's main post office building.

    Lake Tjörnin

    This picturesque little lake is a delightful place for a leisurely stroll, and you'll find it just a five-minute walk away from the hotel. It's especially pretty at sunset and in winter when it freezes over and morphs into a natural ice rink. Around its perimeter are several noteworthy buildings, including the City Hall (which houses a visitor centre), The National Gallery of Iceland, and Fríkirkjan Church. 

    Pósthús

    Housed within a refurbished post office building, Pósthús is one of several food halls that have popped up in Reykjavik in recent years, opening its doors for the first time at the back end of 2022. Inside, you'll find all kinds of vendors, selling everything from sushi and Indian food to pizzas and tacos, and of course plenty of cocktails and beers. You'll find it just around the corner from the hotel. 

    The Settlement Exhibition

    There are few better places to step back in time and delve into the Viking heritage of Reykjavik than The Settlement Exhibition, where you can gain a fascinating glimpse into what the city used to look like from when it was first settled in the ninth century, and how it has developed since. The museum is just a few steps away from the hotel, on the same street.
