In 15 minutes, you can walk to Nauthólsvík Geothermal Beach – a small, sandy cove with a hot spring – or go for a wander through the peaceful Öskjuhlíð wooded area, where you’ll find Perlan – a futuristic, glass-domed museum and exhibition centre with fantastic views overlooking the city.
To get to city centre landmarks such as Hallgrimskirkja and Laugavegur, meanwhile, it takes around 20-25 minutes on foot, or you can take a bus or a taxi if you don’t feel like walking.
After a day of exploring, the Natura Spa is the perfect place for a soothing sauna session or a relaxing dip in the pool or hot tub (please note there is an entrance fee for spa access). Fancy a workout? There’s a well-equipped gym on-site as well.
