"We stayed here as part of our Ring Road tour. This is an excellent location for Northern Lights viewing with the whole hotel design based on capturing the Northern Lights and amazing scenery. There are large picturesque windows in all rooms, with a lovely window see to relax and enjoy the view. The hotel is in a good location to base yourself for day trips around the local area. The restaurant was excellent. We had dinner and breakfast with both of a very high standard, dietary needs very well catered for. There is also a lovely cosy bar and a ping pong table and dart board downstairs if you are looking for after dinner entertainment whilst waiting for the lights to appear. We will definitely book when back to exploring this region of Iceland."

"Nice hotel with unique location outside of the small nearby village. Professional staff, lots of parking and a well run restaurant. Relatively quiet at night, beautiful location to see the Northern Lights and breakfast was great. I recommend this location."

"The Hotel Laxa's staff was welcoming. The best part about this hotel was that it offered complimentary northern light wake-up knocks--we were so grateful to be woken up an hour or so after we'd fallen asleep for our first northern lights experience! The oddest part about this hotel was the swarming gnats, which attack right as you emerge from your car, and are all over the public areas of the hotel (the guest rooms have window screens). Strangely, we didn't encounter these gnats anywhere else in Iceland except on this hill that Hotel Laxa is built upon! Bedroom: 6 standard pillows, 2 split duvets, 2 electrical outlets near bed, 2 bedside tables, 2 bedside lamps, 1 desk, 1 chair, no desk lamp, 1 suitcase stand, open closet (with hangers), room-darkening curtains, no safe, windows able to open (with screen) and stay open. Bathroom: Some shelf space, step-in shower, 1 hair dryer, no shower cap, yes tissues, yes body wash/shampoo combination, no conditioner, no bar soap, 2 glasses (not needed to fill reusable water bottles at the tap), 2 bath towels, 2 hand towels, no wash cloths, 1 bath mat, 1 hand towel hook near sink, 2 hooks for bath towels, vent fan with bathroom light. Technology: 1 TV (with Netflix, YouTube, etc. login capability), adequate wifi. Miscellaneous: Free parking (parking lot), no fitness facility, dining room (breakfast included)."
