Zante Plaza Hotel and Apartments

"First time to Greece and didn't realise that Laganas is considered to be Party central. Fortunately by October it's quietened down. Zante Plaza was just the place for us. Right near the beach and restaurants if you wanted to eat out or just sit admire the view and have a drink. There were even some free sun beds. The hotel was fairly quiet, it is after all a family hotel. Food was plentiful, although limited on some days (be aware some of it was heavily seasoned and we found it too salty to eat). Friendly staff all round and very clean. Only found 2 pools but with a maximum depth of 1.5 metres, great for splashing about in but not for swimming. However the local beach was great. We have already booked for next year."

"lovely hotel, old fashioned traditional greek charm. all staff were very friendly and helpful. room was cleaned frequently and comfortable. plenty of food and drinks including cocktails to choose from. two pools both with max deep end 1.2m. plenty of sunbeds enough for everyone. staggered entertainment evenings were very engaging. great location for sandy beach, local shops, bars, restaurants, and bus stop into bigger town. local people were friendly and we felt very safe indeed. one member of staff was amazing throughout the whole stay, rose, on reception, he was fantastic. my husband and i would definitely stay at this hotel again, it met all our requirements. superb."

"Ok so when we arrived at the hotel it was dark and we had missed dinner. We were offered water and a very basic sandwich before being left to our room. Point 1. This hotel is spread across a wide area comprising three main hotel and several annexes. In our case we were well away from the main part after traversing through several blocks and another hotel we arrived. We had asked for a high floor overlooking the pool. We had a room in the middle of nowhere overlooking a dump site. Point 2. The room was very very basic. We were in 906. Don't expect any form of comfort. You also have to pay €9 per night for air con. You have a kettle but no tea or coffee and glasses were not changed throughout. We had a large bed and the rest of the room was empty besides a wardrobe like structure and a fridge. No English channels on the TV. The bathroom looked unfinished, concrete walls and only handwash and shower gel. The air con unit outside dripped so was a trip hazard as directly outside the door. The room was cleaned daily however. Point 3. The 'main' hotel was again very basic. The foyer doubled as the main restaurant. The pool was crowded and we spent very little time here. Drinks are not served until 11am but water and very sweet juice was available along with undrinkable coffee before then. Point 4. I didn't rate the main buffet food at all. It was very limited and mostly cold. We preferred to eat at the snack bar. And they served a themed evening meal here too. Antonia was brilliant and remembered our names and drink orders. We spent most of our time here. Point 5. There are 2 pools, one at the main hotel. One next to the snack bar. We stayed at this one only. The sunbeds are awful, very very uncomfortable. Try to find the odd lounger one if you can Pool was ok and plenty of floats etc left by other guests. You will need to bring your own pool towels. Expect cats everywhere!! People feed them. Point 6. Location was ok. Despite being 12 mins from the airport the transfer took an hour. We were a 5 min walk from the strip but you didn't hear the noise. Point 6. There is a tourist road train that runs to zante town 3 times a day for 9.50 return. Worth it if you want to see more of the island. Overall, it was more of a 2 star in my opinion but was cheap so we got what we paid for. I wouldn't return but other people were on their 2nd trip so it depends what you want from your holiday."
