"We stayed here recently. This is not a 4-star hotel – 2 to 3 stars at most. The hotel is completely out of the way of everything. That's exactly what we wanted – a relaxed, quiet holiday. But if you want to go places and explore, this is not for you.
Average age was around 50. Fine by us – nice and peaceful.
The good:
· Staff are fantastic – friendly, attentive, pleasant. Only compliments.
· Free shuttle bus to the local village. There's not a lot there – a pebble beach, a few shops and bars – but it was nice for an hour or two.
· Free transfer to Argonauts restaurant – the owner picks you up personally. The food there was top tier! And an amazing view. Highly recommended.
· Nice pool, but not heated – almost too cold to get into.
· Hotel food is mostly local style, a nice change from standard all-inclusive. Breakfast and desserts are the best.
· Bar is basic but fine. Beer okay; cocktails overly sweet but acceptable.
The bad – rooms:
· Beds are hard – you can feel the springs.
· Sound insulation is poor – you can hear neighbours peeing.
· Bathroom ventilation is bad; room stays stuffy.
· Cleanliness was debatable – definite mould in the bathroom (probably from the bad ventilation).
· Furniture is extremely basic: bed, wardrobe, two old wooden chairs. Fridge there but not filled.
· Door is crooked – light shines through because it doesn't close properly.
· No insect screens on windows.
· Blinds don't block out light completely.
The bad – facilities:
· Nowhere comfortable to sit – not even in your room. Just chairs and tables. If you're not on a sunbed, there's no cosy spot.
· If it rains, nowhere to go, nothing to do.
· Entertainment is standard all-inclusive. Main room: BMI machine, massage chair, pool table. Very plain.
· Spa – we didn't try it, but downstairs near the spa it smelled like sewage / drainage. Not pleasant.
Food (lunch/dinner at the hotel):
· Meat was consistently dry or overcooked. Minced meat was always juicy.
· Chicken often tasted reheated.
· Rice was frequently undercooked.
Tip for the accommodation:
Please live up to what you advertise. That was the biggest disappointment – it was advertised better than it actually was. In the end, it was nothing but a bad experience.
Verdict:
The hotel is in serious need of renovation. With the great staff they have, it could become really good. For now, adjust your expectations. Bottom line: perfect if you want total seclusion, peace and quiet, and don't mind an older crowd (50+). But don't expect 4-star luxury."
