Ionion Blue Hotel

"We have stayed at this hotel a number of times over the years because of its great location and pool area. Last year the breakfast offering was pretty awful, the only reason we booked for this year was that we were attending a wedding at the hotel next door. I have never seen fruit, cheese and ham cut so thin, the chef must be a knife wizard. The breakfast food is never replaced unless you ask and then it takes ages for it to come out of the kitchen. I asked one morning at 8.45 if there were any more croissants and just received a definite No. The lady is so rude. The air con is expensive but the room we were in we didn’t actually need it, 30€ for the safe and 5€ per night tourist tax. The toilets downstairs from the pool still need work and the play area for children now contains broken doors. We are returning guests in Kalamaki but will not book Ionion Blue again."

"Myself and my partner stayed here for the first time and we cannot fault this at all! The owners are lovely and offer to help with everything. Pool is large and lots of sun beds. Visually pleasing. Rooms are extremely spacious with a lovely balcony/patio area. Would definitely recommend!"

"What a lovely hotel. I suddenly realised I hadn't left a review from my summer holiday. Didn't know what to expect on my first holiday with small kids. Entering reception, the hotel looked lovely and clean. Helpful receptionist. I am always nervous with hotels booked abroad, as images can be different to reality. I was initially disappointed not to get a room at a height for views/privacy etc, however, being ground floor turned in to a bonus when being able to access the room direct from the pool and, although probably not supposed to, allowed us to keep the aircon on for a bit of quick relief. I was delighted when I walked in the room, which was effectively a one bedroom room, to find there was a lovely glass sliding door partition between the two sets of beds (one king and two singles), as well as two separate tvs. Great for when my kids were ready for bed, and me the other half relaxed on the balcony. Despite going in late July, there were always sunbeds available, even the popular sunbeds for getting all day sun were easily accessible. There was no entertainment on an evening and the bar was quiet, but plenty places in Kalamaki made up for this, a short walk to the main street. Breakfast was always nice, and the lady in the Breakfast area and bar during the day so polite, and approachable. She asked after my daughters every day after they separately fell foul to a sickness bug (nothing to do with the hotel). I am very hard to please, but I absolutely loved this place. Jet2 advertised as 3 star, Greece advertised as 4 star. Id agree with 4 star. Kalamaki as a place is also lovely. Great beach, and plenty things to do."
