The lively Caretta Beach Resort is a top choice for families. There’s a great round-up of facilities, plus a round-the-clock entertainment programme which ticks off sports, games, karaoke and night-time shows. The hotel is also in a brilliant location – just a 15-minute walk from the nearest shops, bars and restaurants, and 25 minutes from a golden, sandy beach. If you don’t fancy the legwork, hop on the hotel shuttle bus for a free ride to the latter.
The outdoor scene gets top marks, with two lake-like swimming pools snaking through the grounds, flanked by palm trees and loungers. There’s an onsite aquapark with slides, chutes and multi-racers, plus a miniature version with spraying fountains and tipping buckets that smaller children will love. The spa slows things down a notch, with a sauna, steam room, Turkish bath and treatment rooms.
There are two restaurants to choose from at mealtimes. The main one is a buffet restaurant, so expect spreads of dishes spanning multiple cuisines, along with show cooking stations. In the speciality eatery it’s all about authentic Italian cooking. A handful of bars take care of cocktails, and some offer snacks as a bonus.
