It’s snagged a secluded spot outside Skiathos Town – and just a stone’s throw from the airport if you fancy a bit of plane spotting. Stretch your legs with a 30-minute stroll into town – or about five minutes’ drive if you jump in a cab – and you’ll have beaches, bars, and more at your fingertips.
Back at base days revolve around the pool, which has snagged the best view in the house. Kick off your morning with an al fresco breakfast of homemade goodies, and then it’s all about doing as little as possible. Plonk yourself on a sun lounger and let the afternoon roll by – that’s the vibe here.

The neighbourhood of Plakes, with its maze of cobbled streets and whitewashed houses draped in Bougainvillea, is just asking to be Instagrammed. Likewise with the Old Port, which was one of the locations used in the hit musical movie, Mamma Mia!. The impressive Agios Nikolaos bell tower made an appearance, too, and it’s easy to see why. Pause at the churchyard for panoramic views over the port.
Papadiamantis Street is the main commercial street, and is the place to go for gyros, ice cream, souvenirs, and buzzing cocktail bars. It’s named after Alexandros Papadiamantis, the father of modern Greek literature, whose former childhood home has been turned into a museum nearby. Skiathitiko Spiti, a museum dedicated to the island’s traditional way of life, is well worth a visit too.
