You’ll find plenty of tavernas, bars and cafes along the waterfront and in the town centre, which is characterised by a plethora of quintessentially Greek whitewashed buildings with terracotta roofs. It's also a great base for exploring other parts of the island.

Just so you know, this property is located at the top of a hill which is only accessible by stairs, therefore this may not be suitable for those customers with walking difficulties or limited mobility. The transfer drop off point is also located at the bottom of this hill. On arrival, hotel porters will assist you with your luggage.

The neighbourhood of Plakes, with its maze of cobbled streets and whitewashed houses draped in Bougainvillea, is just asking to be Instagrammed. Likewise with the Old Port, which was one of the locations used in the hit musical movie, Mamma Mia!. The impressive Agios Nikolaos bell tower made an appearance, too, and it’s easy to see why. Pause at the churchyard for panoramic views over the port.
Papadiamantis Street is the main commercial street, and is the place to go for gyros, ice cream, souvenirs, and buzzing cocktail bars. It’s named after Alexandros Papadiamantis, the father of modern Greek literature, whose former childhood home has been turned into a museum nearby. Skiathitiko Spiti, a museum dedicated to the island’s traditional way of life, is well worth a visit too.
