A FIVE-STAR MASTERPIECE IN THE HEART OF SKIATHOS TOWN
Offering stylish and art-filled interiors bang in the centre of Skiathos Old Town, La Piscine Art Hotel’s for those who love their holidays to be a bit more on the luxurious side. And with plenty of attractions just a short walk from the front door, locations don’t come much better – or more convenient – either.
An Olympic-sized swimming pool surrounded by a lush-green garden is this hotel’s crowning glory. Lazing on a sun lounger will take up much of your time here, punctuated by occasional visits to the poolside bar for a cocktail and some light refreshment. Had enough of topping up your tan? The hotel puts on regular entertainment such as live music, dance troupes, and even theatrical performances to ensure boredom is never an option.
When hunger strikes, meanwhile, head to the Crazy Cow – an à la carte restaurant that specialises in freshly made Greek and Mediterranean dishes, served in a relaxed yet intimate setting. Wine aficionados are well catered for, too, thanks to the hotel’s very own wine bar, boasting a cellar containing 200 different varieties – ranging from local favourites to vintages from all four corners of the globe – to discover and savour for yourself.
Staying here also means you have the whole of Skiathos Town at your fingertips. Restaurants and bars are found in all directions, while the nautical charm of the old port and its neighbouring museum are both just a 10-minute stroll away. There’s a bus stop just outside the hotel, too, so you’re never more than a short drive from a sandy stretch of beach.

Find out more about Skiathos Town
The neighbourhood of Plakes, with its maze of cobbled streets and whitewashed houses draped in Bougainvillea, is just asking to be Instagrammed. Likewise with the Old Port, which was one of the locations used in the hit musical movie, Mamma Mia!. The impressive Agios Nikolaos bell tower made an appearance, too, and it’s easy to see why. Pause at the churchyard for panoramic views over the port.
Papadiamantis Street is the main commercial street, and is the place to go for gyros, ice cream, souvenirs, and buzzing cocktail bars. It’s named after Alexandros Papadiamantis, the father of modern Greek literature, whose former childhood home has been turned into a museum nearby. Skiathitiko Spiti, a museum dedicated to the island’s traditional way of life, is well worth a visit too.
