Skiathos Avaton Garden

"This was a last-minute trip that turned into the trip of a lifetime for us. We knew we’d gotten lucky with our accommodation, but until we arrived at Avaton, we had no idea just how lucky we were. The hotel and its grounds are absolutely gorgeous. Our room overlooked the gardens and scenic hills, meaning every morning we woke up to the sounds of birds and cockerels. Truly a little piece of heaven. The hotel hosted a Greek night on our first evening, with traditional food, music and dancing. We got involved alongside the other guests and, although we were absolutely terrible, it was so much fun. It was exactly the laugh we needed and the perfect way to kick-start our holiday. What really made this place so special, though, was Sergio and the rest of the amazing staff, who work proudly and tirelessly to make their guests feel welcome and valued. For some, hotel management is just a job, but for Sergio it is clearly a passion. From the moment we arrived, he made that known. His knowledge of the island and recommendations on places to visit made our trip so memorable. He took such great care of us and made us feel incredibly safe, which was especially important for two young women travelling together. A special shout-out also goes to the girls. Laughing with Mariangela and Denada at the bar at the end of an evening was a real highlight. They are such amazing, hardworking women and a huge part of what makes Avaton so special. Thank you all for an unforgettable stay."

"Just returned from a weeks stay at the Avaton and couldn’t be more impressed. The hotel and facilities are lovely but the biggest win is the Hotel Manager , Sergio and his team. Sergio greeted us on arrival and the check in staff were wonderful. We were given complimentary drinks and made to feel like our holiday had started the moment we arrived. It was my partners birthday whilst there and Sergio arranged for a bottle of wine and cake to be left in our room. The whole team at the hotel couldn’t do enough to make sure our stay was good. The hotel was spotless, there were rules to stop people leaving towels on beds and then not using them but this was done in a fair and courteous manner. All the staff were friendly and all seemed to have pride in their job which was definitely role modelled by Sergio. We will most certainly be returning here."
