Skiathos Palace Hotel

"we have been to Skiathos several times and always stayed in different hotels, however after staying in the Palace we would probably return for the view alone. our room was a reasonable size with a pleasant balcony with the afore said view. The bathroom was a good size with bath and shower. Importantly the room was quiet we were not disturbed by any loud noises, probably the efficient AC had something to do with that. The room was kept clean and tidy, the beds comfortable which was a blessing for me as I do not sleep very well. On the whole the service was good. Breakfast was a bit of a bunfight as there were a lot of people staying at the hotel. However there was plenty of food and efficient waiters. The bar by the pool was very pleasant. We went a couple of times in the early evening and it felt quite luxurious. Just one downside was the waitress who served us the drinks was compelled to say "here is another glass of wine" and that was for my second glass. Did not go back again after that. I booked for a birthday treat for my husband a reservation at the White restaurant on our last night. The service was second to none and the food amazing. Just a bit disappointed they ignored the occasion. I did mention it was his birthday when I filled in the booking form. It is probably the best hotel we have stayed in in the four years we have been visiting Skiathos."

"Fantastic location overlooking Koukounaries beach and the Aegean Sea, lovely atmosphere around the hotel and pool bar area. Our room ( 426 ) was a nice size and well appointed, overlooking the garden, our only disappointment was the lack of electric plug sockets, only two in the bedroom, you could not plug the kettle in anywhere on the dressing table. The toilet and shower were good, as was the bath. The hotel is absolutely spotless, the staff never stop cleaning. The pool bar is lovely and the staff are excellent, we liked the way the atmosphere changed in the evening with the use of table lighting. We booked a table at the restaurant upstairs, The White Grill, that was also fantastic with superb food and great service. The pool was super clean with ample comfortable sun beds and umbrellas, we found signing for our beach towels a bit of a pain each day. The complementary bus to the beach was most useful, the driver Yanis was so helpful on every trip. Our only criticism was the courtesy bus stoped at 6pm, if you went out in the evening, the climb back up the hill was difficult, especially for older guests. The front reception ladies were always there to help with any questions we had, a special note to Dementre, she had so much local knowledge, and helped us find our way around the island. On the day of our checking out it was raining very hard, the manager Mr George helped us to the coach with our luggage, giving us umbrellas. As we left the hotel some of the staff came out side to wave us all goodbye. We had a super time at the skiathos place. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed."
