"We arrived 30th August for a 9-night stay, flying from Manchester with easyJet. This was our very first trip to Skiathos — and we are so glad we decided to give it a try! 🇬🇷
We opted to take a taxi from the airport as the road up to the Elizabeth Studios is very narrow, so the coach is unable to take you directly to the accommodation. This is in Agia Paraskevi, at Bus Stop 16 on the island — you are dropped at the bottom of the road, which is about a 5–10 minute walk, and your luggage is collected and brought up separately. After a long day of travelling, we felt getting a taxi was absolutely the right call — and it was! 🚕
Elizabeth Studios — the hotel and team:
We were met by Angelo — and he was fantastic from the moment we arrived! So welcoming, friendly, and incredibly helpful — he pulled out a map and showed us exactly where the bus stops were, the best beaches, tavernas, and places to visit around the island. Such great local tips — we were really impressed!
The property itself is stunning — the pool area is beautiful, spotlessly clean, and the apartments and duplex maisonettes are lovely and well-kept. The sunbeds around the pool are also incredibly comfortable — such a wonderful place to relax! We were allocated Apartment 10, a spacious duplex maisonette perfect for three of us: upstairs had a double bed, and downstairs had two single beds — an ideal layout! The bathroom was beautiful and the shower was wonderfully powerful — honestly stronger and better than the one I have at home! 🚿 We were also very pleased to find air conditioning in the apartment — it was so welcome during our stay as it was exceptionally hot for the time of year, and it worked perfectly throughout! ❄️ We also had a safe and ample space to hang all our clothes — everything we could need! It also had a kettle, fridge, Breville toaster, plenty of plates, cutlery, glasses, and cooking utensils. We were even welcomed with a large bottle of water on arrival — such a thoughtful touch after travelling!
Angelo, Maria, Katerina, and Gabriel — along with the whole team — are absolutely fantastic and so welcoming! The breakfast here is amazing — we were on a bed-and-breakfast basis, and you actually get a menu to order hot cooked food alongside a lovely cold buffet with the most beautiful croissants, pain au chocolat, cheese, ham, bread — everything you could think of! 🥐🍳 I had the Croque Madame a couple of times — delicious — and also the full English breakfast. This is such a lovely touch — not many places offer freshly cooked made-to-order breakfast with your B&B! 🍳
We also attended one of the pizza nights — held three times a week — and Valentino, the Italian chef, is outstanding! He works so incredibly hard, and his pizzas and garlic bread with cheese are to die for! 🍕 We chose a vegetarian pizza as one of us is vegetarian, and it was absolutely beautiful — I'd definitely recommend joining in for pizza night! A special thank you to Valentino! 🙌
One thing that really stood out — everyone was so warm and welcoming! All the guests staying at the Elizabeth Studios, the neighbours either side and opposite — everyone you spoke to was lovely. I've never experienced that in accommodation before! I don't know if it's because there are only 22 rooms, but it genuinely felt like family — and we've made some wonderful new friends that we're definitely going to keep in touch with! 💛 A special thank you to the girls next door who left us such a lovely little present when they departed — such a thoughtful touch! 💝
The local area and things to do:
The location of the Elizabeth Studios is perfect. As you turn left outside the property, within a few minutes walk, you have so many lovely bars and restaurants! Lithos — lovely for a drink and wonderful meals. Jimmy's Pool Bar — Jimmy, who I believe is actually called Dimitri, is such a charming gentleman — the drinks are great, and the guests staying here and visiting the bar were all so friendly and lovely! 🥂 Mistrali — we didn't try it ourselves but friends did and highly recommended it! Taverna Kipos near the bottom of the road, gorgeous setting and delicious food. And Symposia Restaurant — we ate there a couple of times beautiful food ,would fully recommend it! Also Pork & Roll — great spot too! 🥘🍹
The beach itself is lovely — and we also did the Mamma Mia cruise with Elizabeth Cruises which we thoroughly enjoyed! It was a long day visiting both Skopelos and Alonissos, but both islands are absolutely stunning — well worth the trip! 🛥️🎬
Angelo also recommended we hire a boat — which we did, from Skiathos Boat Hire & Water Sports at Bus Stop 8 — just a short bus ride away! It was perfect — we all had our own little boat, could visit whichever beaches we wanted, and felt so confident out on the water. It was an unforgettable trip — huge thanks to Angelo for the recommendation! 🚤🌊
We also visited Baracoa Beach Club at Bus Stop 12 — what an absolute gem! 💎 You do need to book online beforehand, but it's so worth it — waiter service comes right to your sunbeds, the staff are lovely, and the location is breathtakingly beautiful — honestly out of this world! Probably one of my favourite places on the whole island — if you go, you'll understand why! 🌴✨
We also went to Crazy Rooster at Bus Stop 15 for one of their themed nights — and it was so much fun! 🐓🎶 It's worth noting this wouldn't be for the less mobile, as once you get off the bus at Stop 15 there's quite a walk up the hill — but it's so worth it! We went to their 80s music night — it was fantastic, everyone was jumping in the pool at the end of the night! 💃🕺🏊 It was €25 per person and included some lovely food — great value! They also do a Greek night which we're sure would be just as wonderful — I'd definitely recommend visiting if you get the chance! 🇬🇷🎉
Summary
It is honestly the most beautiful island — with 26 bus stops across the island, there is a beach at every bus stop which are all absolutely beautiful, and restaurants right on the doorstep, it's perfect! You can be in Skiathos Town in 15 minutes for just €2.20, and Koukounaries Beach at Bus Stop 26 in around 10 minutes — Agia Paraskevi would easily be one of my favourite places to stay! 🇬🇷🏝️
Overall this has been an absolutely amazing holiday. Angelo is wonderful and so is the whole team (he also taught us some new Greek phrases 😂)! I would 100% recommend Elizabeth Studios — I'd describe it as rustic Greece at its very best. Beautiful location, beautiful accommodation — and the shower in the room is amazing, honestly better than the one I have at home! 🚿 I've tried to add some photos to do this place justice, but words can't capture it all. Thank you all for an incredible stay — we will definitely be back! 💛🇬🇷"
