Belvedere Hotel

"A hotel that has a big need for renovation. We had the room with sea view in the main building. Our room was worn out but everything worked. Nice staff, the breakfast was okay, but monotonous! The hotel needs love! The positive was that it was close to the beach and easy to take the bus into town."

"The hotel is in a poor condition, the tiny lift should be condemned, it is dangerous especially for little hands as there are two holes in the inside door. Our room was spacious with a nice view. The bathroom was a poor design with the door banging into the toilet when opened, the flushing system was broken, the extractor fan sounded like an aircraft landing, the shower hook was broken and there was no plug in the sink. You could feel the springs in the mattress and the mosquito blind on the balcony door was shredded in several places. The breakfast was poor, orange juice in particular tasted like a cheap squash. Water for tea was barely warm each day along with the coffee. The inside bar was never open during our stay, can’t comment on the pool bar as we never spent time around the pool, the pool itself looked dirty with green stains around the inside edges and was generally uninviting. One elderly guest joked that a frogman would be needed to clean the pool! The hotel needs a complete overhaul and modernisation. To be described as a four star is ridiculous I would rate it as a 2 or low 3 star!"

"DO NOT BELIEVE THE DESCRIPTiON! This hotel is disgusting. It is nothing like the photographs or description. It is very tired & rundown. The first room we were given was dirty and mouldy. Mould on the walls, the wood around the bath tub was rotten and it smelled of mould. The beds were broken & uncomfortable. There is a large steep set of concrete steps up to the bungalows. The handrail was loose and it had bolts either missing or loose. They were very unsafe. The staff at the reception were rude & dismissive of our concerns. Eventually we were offered another bungalow which was only slightly better.. although it had been cleaned it still smelled of drains in the bathroom. The pool was dirty & had green deposits . Needless to say we didn’t use it. We raised concerns with Easyjet holidays and were told that we could only be moved if we found & paid ourselves! Our holiday was ruined as we could only spend time in our bungalow to sleep & shower. Mo way could we relax in the cesspit. Breakfast was minimal and not very varied . The only positive about this hotel was the view down to the sea & location We can’t believe that this hotel is still being advertised - Do Not Book!"
