A chic beachfront hideaway
This five-star treat drops you on the south of the island, right along Perivolos, Santorini’s cool, laid-back stretch of coastline. Forget cliff-edge crowds for a minute; here it’s all black volcanic sand, blue sea and a five kilometre sweep of beach clubs humming gently in the background. You’ve got direct access to the shore and you can stroll along the waterfront to neighbouring Perissa for more bars and tavernas. Hop in a taxi and you'll reach Fira in about 15-20 minutes, and then head on to Oia for those big caldera sunsets and postcard views.
At the hotel, life revolves around the water. There are swimming pools to drift between, sunbeds a few steps from the sea, and a spa where you can dial things down with massages, treatments and some proper “do not disturb” time. Luxury resort comfort meets villa-style seclusion, with 37 light, airy suites dressed in soft colours, warm wood and stone, each with its own outdoor hot tub or private pool. Catamaran cruises and excursions often set off nearby too, so it’s a handy base if you fancy exploring the coastline.
You’re in full treat territory when it comes to dining. There are two restaurants led by a star-awarded chef, serving Mediterranean dishes with local twists, plenty of just-caught seafood and colourful salads built around Santorini tomatoes and aubergines. Breads are baked on site in a wood-fired oven for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bar shakes up sunset cocktails and chilled glasses of Santorini wine, perfect after a day with sand between your toes. If you like your Santorini design-led, grown-up and gloriously beachy, this chic pad is a very easy yes.
