"The hotel
A lovely immaculate welcoming hotel with lovely staff who really make you feel welcome , we were greeted with a lovely warm welcome by Olga and Martha
Location and access
Located quite centrally and on one of the main streets ( but mostly pedestrianised) hotel santellini is in the perfect location for everything .access is good with a ramp but for those in a wheelchair you would struggle as there are no lifts to get from reception to the breakfast room
Trips and excursions
Olga can point you in the right direction of some great excursions if you’ve not already found some in your app or with your rep. Reception will also recommend some great places to eat and will also make reservations for you or arrange transport
Rooms
Are decorated in typical Greek decor but to a high standard boutique style . All rooms have a kettle, tv, hairdryer, fridge, and air con at no additional charge which is very rare, and also toiletries provided in the bathroom .There is a safe but there is a small charge for this but nothing horrendous and well worth it for peace of mind . Each room comes with a double wardrobe with hangers ( normal ones not ones that are on the hooks) bedding you have additional pillows and throws in the wardrobe too. There are plenty of plugs around the room too
Most rooms look out onto the pool but a few overlook the main road , we were in room 312 which overlooked ye road which is great for people watching
Rooms are maintained to a high standard with them being cleaned daily with the option to change towels daily if you wish ( leave on the floor if you want clean ones) or if you want to reuse them just hang them back up. They are lovely, thick and soft but if you are a larger lady or gent I’d suggest bringing larger towels with you or asking for additional towels .
The balcony comes with table and chairs again to a very high standard and very clean
Pool area
Is extremely clean and lovely , there are only a small number of beds but we found that the close by beach was where most people wanted to be.
You can get pool towels from the reception for a small deposit ( we paid €2 per towel) they are thick and large
Beach
The beach is literally 2 mins at the bottom of the street , this is made of dark volcanic stones but is very clean . If I were to give you any advice I’d wear aqua shoes otherwise you’ll find it very had to walk as the stones get very hot and getting in and out of the sea is very difficult without them.
The beach has multiple bars and restaurants who own strips of the beach, some will try and charge you per bed and umbrella for you to use them , or will have a minimum spend for you to be able to use their beds. There are areas that have no beds so if you want to brace the pebbles then pop your towel down for free. We used the love boat which is based in the centre, we ate and drank there and the food and drink was reasonably priced and lovely
Breakfast
Breakfast is served downstairs by the pool , which is continental but every morning there was something warm , scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages and beans . The continental selection had a great choice. With cereals, yogurts, meats, cheeses, breads, homemade cakes, jams. Martha’s homemade jams, water various juices, fruit juices , tomatoes cucumbers and hard boiled eggs . All very fresh and very tasty
Supermarkets /restaurants
You are surrounded by lots of supermarkets, restaurants and ice cream parlours right out side the hotel or turn left outside of the hotel and left again and you’ll find more
Check-in / checkout
Check in is 15.00 and checkout is 11am. I’m not sure if a late checkout is available as we’ve not used that facility"
