"This hotel had many great parts. I will start with them. Our room with sea view and balcony which we paid to upgrade to through the booking site was spotless and the maid service excellent. The air con was great and needed in May. The balcony was small but we were expecting that. Because of our room location tucked in a corner it was quiet and balcony private. It did not get the sun at all.
Great toiletries in bathroom but hairdryer was broken. Plenty of clean towels including fresh beach towels daily.
Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The lady chef making fresh omelettes and pancakes was so friendly. Dinner at the sister hotel mitsis petite was amazing. Different themed night, super friendly staff and delicious food, especially the deserts.
Unfortunately for us the La Vita hotel was massively let down by inconsistent customer service. When we checked in late in the afternoon I noticed that despite it being sunny and warm there were no sun-beds on the beach which looked quite barren. As this was one of the reasons we booked I asked the receptionist if the beds are on the beach and she just smirked at us and said ‘it’s out of season’.
The sun does not reach the pool at the la vita until midday and it’s a very small area. We tried relaxing by the pool at the sister hotel Mitsis petite but it was very noisy with children. Eventually we settled for a patch on the beach near the aquarium lying on the sand. On our third day I again asked the receptionist if we could use a couple of beds piled up on the beach in front of the hotel but again she couldn’t care less, shrugged her shoulders and said the hotel was waiting on the mayor to authorise use of the beach so no not possible. I said we were dissatisfied as we booked after seeing the beach area advertised but she really didn’t care. She made be feel silly for even questioning it.
On our last day I lost a pair of expensive sunglasses somewhere around reception just as we were waiting on the transfer. We looked high and low but couldn’t see them. When we got home over a week ago I have twice used an online contact form to ask Customer services if they have been found and both my emails have been ignored to date. I find that to be very poor customer service. Finally the building site next to the hotel is huge, dusty and very noisy. I was expecting more from this hotel."
