Emerald Hotel

"My Wife and I had booked a late weeks holiday for the 2 of us for late sept , early Oct and we were offered Emerald . The initial thoughts were it was nice and clean , staff were pleasant and helpful . We were in the 2nd floor with 2 sets of stairs up to and an elevator if we needed it again all clean and tidy on the stairs and landings very easy to access and use. We found the room to be very spacious clean and tidy again and with a not too bad view from the Balcony out towards Rhodes town up over the hill but only problem some might have is the Hotel is slap bang in the flight path . The pools again in great condition and well maintained with it being late September / early October it wasn’t too busy so that was exactly what we had asked for . The Bathroom has a hairdryer in and also the shower had the option for Rain Shower or normal small head again during the week the bath room and room was kept to a excellent standard with beds which were comfy , bedding changed every 3 days and towels were every 2 days . The bar / restaraunt areas again were well maintained and the staff were all polite and happy all the time . We ate lunches at the hotel most days and we just stuck with light meals like toasties or gyros as we knew we’d be eating out at nights . The Hotel had entertainment on 3 times when we were there with us really enjoying the greek night and we took part in the dancing they asked the residents to take part in . There was a fairly varied people staying at the hotel from mainly couples to a few families with mostly older age of kids . Most others staying at the time we were there seemed to be from Holland but a few Brits were there and no one really were booking off Sunbeds with towels with some being returning customers which is always a good sign . The Hotel was close to the beach with a couple of shops within 5 mins walk . There was a small waterpark within 10 mins at another hotel but it was open to anyone . We were about 15/20 mins from Kremasti Centre with more Taverna’s and places to eat which we did twice to the same place which we said we didn’t want to do but it seemed that some of the places were starting to cut back from what they were offering with is trying 2 places in one night to be told the menu choices were drastically reduced being told our choices were not available after ordering .So we decided. to return to the one we really enjoyed the food at . Ilyasos was a 15/20 min walk to the outskirts again with options of food and drink there and a few shops where we explored . All in all I’d happily stay at the hotel again"

"The hotel is between the airport and Rhodes Town. The flight path is over the hotel so could be annoying if you are not used to this. It didn't put us off, it was good looking at the colourful planes arriving. The hotel its self is very clean, rooms cleaned each day. Staff are super friendly. Two adult pools and two child pools. No fighting over sunbeds!!! We were self catering, so had a sma hob, kettle. You do need your own soap etc. 5 min walk to beach, mini market or bigger market at main road. It's a quiet hotel but does have 3 event nights From our hotel we could see Turkey."

"The hotel is nice, not very big. The pool area is very nice, has plenty of room for everyone. Staff is friendly but the prices are a bit high comparing the quality of portions. Smoking is allowed everywhere and that's not so nice if you are non-smoker. It's not so nice sitting on your balcony and smoke coming from boths sides"
