"⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **A Holiday We Never Knew We Needed**
We stayed at Holiday Village Atlantica Rhodes from 27 September to 11 October, and can honestly say it was one of the best holidays we've ever had.
From the moment we stepped through the doors, the reception team were delightful. Every member of staff was welcoming, informative, friendly and genuinely eager to help. Nothing ever seemed too much trouble.
Our swim-up room was fantastic, and a huge thank you goes to the housekeeping team who worked tirelessly throughout our stay. Our room was always spotless, the beds were beautifully made, and towels replenished daily. The only thing we occasionally had to ask for was extra coffee and sugar, but this was always sorted quickly and with a smile.
We'd also like to thank the team who kept our mini fridge stocked with water each day. On one occasion my husband had to track someone down for a couple of extra bottles, and they happily brought them over straight away. Considering that was the only time we needed to ask during a two-week stay, that's pretty impressive.
A massive shout out must go to the facilities and grounds team. Every morning from around 7:30am they were out cleaning the grounds, pathways and surrounding areas, often greeting guests with a cheerful "Kalimera". The hotel was immaculate throughout our stay, and their hard work certainly didn't go unnoticed.
An even bigger thank you goes to the gentleman responsible for maintaining the pools. Every single day he could be seen cleaning, checking and caring for them, whether that was brushing the walls, cleaning the pool floor or removing anything floating in the water. The pools were spotless throughout our holiday and he deserves huge recognition for his dedication.
One of the standout moments came during our second week when we asked if it would be possible to move rooms as I wanted to enjoy the morning sunshine on our terrace. Within just 90 minutes our request had been approved, we had packed our belongings, and a porter was helping us move to our new room in the neighbouring block. I've travelled extensively and have genuinely never experienced service like that before. What might seem like a small request made a huge difference to our holiday and showed just how much the staff care about guest satisfaction.
The porters themselves were fantastic. Always smiling, informative and happy to help, they made sure we knew where everything was and never passed us without saying hello.
The food deserves special praise too. We genuinely couldn't fault the buffet restaurant. Across the entire two weeks there was always plenty of choice, and we managed to eat something different every day. My husband often misses a proper fry-up when we're in Greece, particularly British sausages, bacon and hash browns, so he was absolutely over the moon to discover these appeared on alternate mornings.
Lunch and evening meals offered just as much variety. The noodle bar was absolutely amazing and quickly became one of our favourite places to eat. I'd also like to give a huge shout out to Debbie at the Miraka food truck, who is an absolute legend and was always friendly, welcoming and brilliant with guests.
The gyros station was a little hit and miss depending on who was preparing it, but when it was good, it was very good. My only food-related wish was for the occasional plain chicken breast option. That may sound odd to some people, but after two weeks there comes a point where I simply couldn't face another piece of beef or pork!
The drinks were exactly what you'd expect from an all-inclusive resort, and we particularly appreciated the lovely touch of waiters bringing cold bottles of water to the table. The cocktails were a little inconsistent and often very strong due to the free-pour style, occasionally overpowering the flavour of the drink itself, but that's fairly common in many all-inclusive resorts.
A quick recommendation to future guests: make sure you visit the gelato stand for an ice cream and a cheeky bag of popcorn!
The entertainment teams were another huge highlight of our stay. The Holiday Village team are incredibly talented and worked tirelessly day and night. A special mention goes to Carter, whose commentary during water polo had both myself and my husband in absolute stitches.
The daytime activity team also deserve enormous recognition. There was always someone around saying hello, checking in with guests and encouraging people to get involved. Their energy levels were incredible every single day. I honestly don't know how they remember all of the dances! Whether it was quizzes, pool games, Bing Bong Bingo or simply creating a great atmosphere around the resort, they gave 100% all the time. At times I genuinely felt for them when people weren't joining in because you could see how much effort they put into making everyone's holiday enjoyable. Their enthusiasm never dropped, and they are a huge part of what makes Holiday Village such a special place.
The visiting acts were a little hit and miss, but that's entirely down to personal taste and won't appeal to everyone.
I also treated myself to a visit to the spa and had a wonderful experience. The facilities were beautiful, relaxing and professional. What stood out most was that the staff weren't pushy when discussing treatments, unlike some spas I've experienced on previous holidays.
If I had one small suggestion, it would be regarding the à la carte restaurants. Both La Trattoria and Stars & Stripes served good food, but the experience felt quite rushed. At La Trattoria, we were served one starter instead of the advertised appetiser, and the remaining starters arrived before we'd finished the first one. We were in and out in around 45 minutes. We found Stars & Stripes very similar. The food was nice and exactly as advertised, but the pace of service made it feel more like a conveyor belt than a relaxed dining experience.
Overall, this hotel exceeded every expectation. The staff, facilities, food, cleanliness, entertainment and service were outstanding. What started as an unexpected change to our holiday plans turned into a holiday we never knew we needed.
We arrived as first-time Holiday Village guests and left as lifelong fans. Every department played a part in creating an unforgettable experience, and while no hotel is ever perfect, the people at Holiday Village Atlantica Rhodes are what make this place truly special.
We loved our stay so much that Holiday Village now ticks every box for us, and we're already planning to return in 2028, whether that's to Rhodes or another Holiday Village destination.
