Mitsis Selection Alila

"We recently stayed at Mitsis Selection Alila in Rhodes, booking directly with the hotel for four adults across two rooms at a total cost of £5,374.96. For that amount of money, and given the hotel's five-star luxury advertising, we expected a very high standard. Unfortunately, our experience fell far short of those expectations. Our suite had mould, dirty floors, tired and tatty furnishings, a broken television and broken glass on the balcony. The problems extended throughout the hotel, including cold food, pool cues with missing tips, broken table tennis bats and a stained pool table. The advertised beach bag was also missing. To make matters worse, on the final day I discovered a large cockroach in my suite. I have photographic evidence of this and many of the other issues. I raised concerns repeatedly throughout our stay with the manager, George Voles, but felt that little meaningful assistance was offered. I also asked for compensation while at the hotel, which was refused. These were not issues raised for the first time after returning home. The hotel was given repeated opportunities to address our concerns during our stay. Having paid £5,374.96 for what was advertised as a luxury five-star experience, I feel extremely let down by both the condition of the accommodation and the response from management. I have since submitted a formal complaint and am awaiting a satisfactory resolution. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel."

"Back home from a wonderful vacation. Enjoy everything Alila has to offer. Meanwhile, we have stayed 11 times in this beautiful hotel, where the hospitality and friendliness of the staff are TOP!! Without going into detail, we want to thank everyone for their commitment to providing us with a wonderful holiday year after year. Thanks to Nana, Dimitra, Anna, Amelia, Niko, Ruru, Aris, Illias, Maria, Antonis, George (Ouzerie), Georges (breakfast/lunch), Evy, Magda, Daria, Iordanis and Vaggelis. One caveat is that the wonderful atmosphere there is thoroughly disrupted by "big noisy families" with children from a certain country. These people show little to no respect for the staff. "We enjoyed our stay and we were sad to leave. The staff were friendly, the service was amazing. Food: Pan Asian, Italian and Greek in the evenings were lovely. Managed to book 5 out of the 9 nights. We felt the buffet main restaurant let’s down the hotel, we tried to avoid it which is a shame as thought it would be better quality as it’s supposed to be a premium 5 star. We always ate at the tex Mex, pizza or American food American food options for lunch, or had pitta corner/ ouzeri around 5ish to avoid main buffet. Omelettes for breakfast were lovely. Drinks- they were all great, espresso martinis and spicy margaritas in the hotel bar and evening bar were lush! Best drinks we’ve experienced in an all inclusive. The rooms- Noisy from above and next door. Definitely need refreshments as very tired, we were really surprised how dated it was. It wasn’t the room we paid for either, we didn’t book a family room, and it had no benefit to us as we had the cot next to our bed, if you were sat on the balcony you’d just see the wall. To see the view you’d have to stand which wasn’t relaxing at all. Beach- stunning, clean and plenty of beds! Lots of the staff made a fuss over our son which was nice, He loved it! He was poorly at the start of the trip, reception offered a phone call to the doctor which was €150 euros, we opted to go in to see see a doctor which was €190. Overall we’d come back but will Keep on eye on refurbishments or make sure we get a nicer room next time"
