"We were caught in the floods of 14th October and our room was flooded. I appreciate they cannot control the weather but it was their complete lack of care or control after the flood. We were left without power, food and hot water overnight. At the same time people were being bused into this hotel when it was unsafe for anyone to remain in the hotel. There was no communication. For example cleaners, who didn’t speak English, were the ones who told us to leave. As we had no room we had to wade through brown water to Access a public toilet. Until another guest told us that they had opened a room upstairs with a toilet It was just pure luck who got moved and we had to wait until the following afternoon. Having been told it would be by 10:00am so yet another of 7 days wasted. People who had paid who arrived the next day were not even allowed to check in and completely left on their own to sort out accommodation and when asked about food were given takeaway leaflets. Even before floods I had concerns about the hotel and lack of hygiene for example there was no temperature control and even high risks foods were served cold and without covers, to keep the many flies away Fortunately we were moved to the Pegasus hotel which was a proper hotel and while not their issue they were supportive and caring throughout and I couldn’t recommend them more highly."

"I completely understand that the severe weather and resulting damage were beyond the hotel’s control, and I appreciate that natural disasters can cause significant disruption. However, the way we were treated by Olivia Blue Sea Resort was absolutely appalling. We arrived at around 8:30 pm on 15 October, only to be told ten minutes later that the hotel was closing and we could no longer stay. There had been no clear warning before our arrival, and the hotel’s social media appeared to be posting as normal, with no obvious announcement informing customers of the closure. Had this been communicated properly, we could have contacted our travel provider before travelling and potentially avoided the entire situation. What made the experience even worse was the complete lack of help or reassurance from the staff. We were repeatedly told that it was nothing to do with them and that we needed to contact our travel agent. I understand that the hotel may not have been responsible for arranging alternative accommodation, but that does not excuse the lack of basic compassion and customer care. We were left extremely distressed in reception, genuinely worried that we would have nowhere to stay that night. I was in tears, and there was no meaningful assistance or reassurance offered. We were also far from the only guests affected. There were over 20 people in the lobby, all stressed and desperately trying to find alternative accommodation, while staff appeared to stand by without making any real effort to help. We spent over an hour and a half on the phone with our travel provider trying to resolve the situation, with no idea where we would be staying or how the situation would be resolved. Eventually, we were relocated to alternative accommodation, arriving around midnight. I appreciate that the hotel could not control the weather, but it could have controlled how it communicated with and treated its guests. Clearer communication, a little empathy and some practical guidance would have made an enormous difference. Instead, we felt completely abandoned at a time when we were already frightened and vulnerable. It is deeply disappointing that a hotel we had booked and looked forward to staying at handled such a difficult situation in this way. The natural disaster was not their fault, but the lack of communication, assistance and compassion was. Guests deserve to be treated with respect, especially in an emergency."

"Can’t knock this hotel one bit. The staff was outstanding always friendly and very helpful. Rooms were good size and very clean. Food again really good choice and am a picky eater Even the snack bar was a good quality. Pools amazing and always found a sunbed any time of day which wasn’t broken. Ok I’ve raved about everything being good if I had to pick a fault it would have to be the choice of local beer Zythos VAP not my favorite but after a few it came bearable(mythos beer) would have made it 100% We was there when the storm came in and battered the whole island I will not say a bad word about the staff on that night when they had rooms flooded and a power cut as they went up and beyond as it was through no fault of there’s it happened well in all the staff throughout that day and night."
