"We have just left this hotel and can honestly say it’s one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in. We’re lucky enough to have travelled extensively and stayed in Ikos Hotels, Four Seasons, Park Hyatt, Banyan Tree, Ritz Carlton, Chedi, Shangri-La, Dusit, Andronis in Santorini, Grosvenor, and some of the leading hotels across the world. So to make that statement doesn’t come lightly for us.
Our arrival was seamless. We were checked in, had a welcome drink, given a quick tour and shown to our room, all very efficiently. The hotel then secured us a restaurant booking and arranged for one of the Moke buggies (little jeeps) to take us into Mykonos Town. Special mention to Ivan for arranging all this. The hotel has also been really good at recommending and booking restaurants for us throughout our stay.
Breakfast is fantastic. There’s a great selection, an extensive egg menu, delicious fresh orange juice, lovely coffees and very efficient service. The view from the restaurant is stunning. The waiters Dimitris and Odysseas were excellent, they could almost predict what you wanted and ran a very slick operation.
The pool area is lovely and immaculate, with very, very comfortable sun loungers, a large pool and, of course, those impressive views.
We’ve had several lovely lunches at the hotel and the service in the restaurant has been fantastic, very attentive without being over the top. The food is delicious and the Greek wine recommended to us was perfect, served in amazing glasses that we’ve since found online and are going to order some of when we get home!
Our room was lovely, with a perfect sea view, hot tub, great terrace and a very comfortable bed. The sunsets are spectacular. We’ve gone out late every night, so we’ve been able to watch the sun setting from the hot tub or terrace before heading out.
The Mokes that take you into Mykonos Town are so much fun! The longest we’ve had to wait for one is about five minutes. It’s a very efficient service and they drop you very close to the seafront, just a short walk from the centre of town. When you want to come back, you simply WhatsApp the hotel and they send one to collect you, up until 1am. All the drivers have been brilliant and we don’t want to single any one of them out for individual praise as they’ve all been excellent.
The hotel bar is also lovely (and uses the same amazing glasses for Prosecco!). The barman, Nickolas, is fantastic, great service, excellent drinks and really good conversation. Plus, again, you have those views and sunsets from the bar. The fact it’s open until 1am is a bonus too.
The hotel is directly under the flight path from Mykonos Airport, which can be quite loud, but we genuinely don’t mind this. We actually find it quite interesting looking to see where the flights are going. It’s worth mentioning though for anyone who might be particularly sensitive to aircraft noise.
It can also be a bit breezy up on the hillside, but the glass screens around the pool do a really good job of protecting you from the wind.
We spent a day at the sister hotel, Sunrise, at Almiriki Beach and used the beach club there. It’s all complimentary and, again, it was faultless. A very comfortable, modern minibus took us across the island, followed by a seamless check-in, comfortable sunbeds and a lovely taverna for lunch. It was a great addition to our stay and gives you the option of having a proper beach day as well.
The WhatsApp communication with reception and the concierge is fantastic. Responses are very prompt and, more importantly, whatever you’ve asked for is dealt with quickly and efficiently.
Overall, this hotel manages to offer a very professional and individual level of service without ever feeling intrusive. Everything just seems to work, and the staff genuinely seem to anticipate what you need rather than waiting to be asked.
We’ve stayed in some exceptional hotels around the world and Deos is absolutely up there with the best of them.
We’ve had an amazing time, we would recommend Deos to all our friends and family, and we can’t wait to come back!"
