Experience authentic Greek hospitality
You’ll find the family-run Fili Apartments in Tigaki, a seaside village in the north of Kos that’s home to a beach with soft sand and sparkling shallow waters. The hotel is well located – you can be rolling your towel out on the beach after less than a ten-minute stroll, and the centre of town is just five minutes away by taxi. Alternatively you can walk along the beach and into town in around 20 minutes.
At the hotel itself, you’ve got three pools to dip into – one of them is shallower and perfect for little ones, and there’s a colourful waterslide plunging into another. There are plenty of loungers and parasols around the water’s edge, so it’s the ideal place to soak up the sun during the day. There’s a bar just beside the pool for drinks, too. When you’re not stretched out on a sun lounger by the pool, you can play games of pool and table football, or take the kids to the outdoor playground.
Start the day with a generous breakfast – there’s a choice of everything from a Continental breakfast to a full English, and it’s served until midday, so you can enjoy a lie in if you fancy it. The hotel restaurant specialises in dishes made from fresh local ingredients – be sure to try the authentic Greek meals on the menu if you’re eating dinner at the hotel. There’s also a weekly Greek barbecue night with lots of food and traditional dancing.
Rooms are a mix of apartments and studios, and some of them even have views of the Aegean Sea. Each one comes with a kitchenette that’s kitted out with a fridge, kettle, and a double ringed hob. You’ll also have a private bathroom, air conditioning, and a balcony or terrace to relax on.
