"⚠️ REVIEW BEFORE BOOKING: This did NOT feel like a 5-star hotel — especially considering we paid around €1,400 for only 3 nights. We paid around €1,400 for 3 nights, expecting a genuine 5-star experience based on the hotel’s description. Unfortunately, the experience was far below what we expected from a hotel at this price and standard. 1. Internet: The Wi-Fi was terrible. Most of the time it simply didn’t work properly, even though we were staying on the third floor. 2. Soft drinks: The soft drinks were extremely low quality and tasted more like cheap syrup than proper branded drinks. 3. Cocktails: The cocktails were equally disappointing. The quality of the ingredients was very poor — mostly syrup, artificial orange juice and Sprite. This is not what we expected from a 5-star all-inclusive hotel. 4. Beach and sunbeds: The hotel’s beach facilities were very poor. The umbrellas were in terrible condition and there was no proper beach bar. The sunbeds looked old, damaged and almost like they had been discarded somewhere and then placed on the hotel beach. Because of this, we ended up paying extra for sunbeds at another nearby beach. 5. Bathroom: There was no proper ventilation in the bathroom, which made it uncomfortable, especially after showering. 6. Food: The food was repetitive, with essentially the same options every day. There was also no clear information describing what type of meat was being served. 7. Room storage/drying space: There was nowhere suitable to dry wet swimwear or clothes. There was also not enough wardrobe/storage space for three adults staying in the room. 8. Fish service: On one day, fish was served for only around 15 minutes. We arrived approximately 15 minutes later and there was no fish left. Meanwhile, the same repetitive food options were available every day. For a hotel advertised as 5-star, this felt unnecessarily restrictive. 9. Pool and bar opening hours: There is a pool in the garden area, but it closes far too early — at 6:00 PM. During summer, especially at an all-inclusive resort, guests should be able to enjoy the pool later in the evening. We also wanted to get something to drink at around 12:15 AM, but the bar was already closed. If you pay for an all-inclusive experience, you expect drinks and facilities to be available for reasonable hours, especially during the summer season. Overall, we expected much more for €1,400 for three nights. The hotel may have a 5-star rating in its description, but many aspects of the actual experience simply did not feel 5-star. The biggest issue is the value for money. At this price, we expected better food quality and variety, better drinks, proper beach facilities, reliable Wi-Fi and generally much higher standards. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we would not choose this hotel again or recommend it to someone looking for a genuine 5-star experience."

"★☆☆☆☆ A 5-star hotel in name only We booked Elinotel Sermilia Resort hoping for a relaxing family holiday with our 11-month-old baby. Instead, we found ourselves counting the days until we could leave. The biggest disappointment was the food. This was advertised as a 5-star all-inclusive resort, yet most meals consisted of cheap fried food, plain pasta, rice and potatoes with very limited variety. Fresh options were scarce and the overall quality was extremely poor. What crossed the line was being served spoiled rice with a strong sour smell at lunch. I immediately reported it to the restaurant staff. Although they pretended not to understand English very well, the entire tray disappeared within minutes. On another evening, the baklava was rancid. After that, we completely lost trust in the hotel’s kitchen and started eating in nearby restaurants despite having already paid for all-inclusive. The problems didn’t stop there. Our shower was broken, the towels were poor quality, there was nowhere to dry wet clothes, the pool looked poorly maintained, and the beach area was overcrowded with dirty sunbeds packed so tightly together that it was almost impossible to find a place unless we arrived around 7 a.m. The hotel feels tired, worn out and nowhere near the standard expected from a property marketed as five stars. However, what disappointed us the most was the management. We reported the issues on our very first day through our tour operator, documented everything with photographs and met the hotel manager in person. We were assured that a decision would be made by the end of the following day. Nothing happened. No reply. No explanation. No apology. No attempt to resolve the situation. We sent follow-up emails and were simply ignored. Hotels can make mistakes. Food problems can happen. Maintenance issues can happen. Ignoring guests after promising a solution is a management decision. That is what transformed a disappointing stay into one that I feel compelled to warn other travellers about. If you are looking for a genuine 5-star experience—especially if you are travelling with children—I strongly recommend looking elsewhere."
