She helped me so much with a personal issue, was always warm, friendly and welcoming, and also gave us great tips and help with the trips we wanted to take. "Don’t expect 5 star! The resort is literally miles from anywhere best to hire a car as there is no public transport at all. However bear in mind that the car park costs 20 Euros a day to park so find somewhere outside of the hotel to park. If you want to go anywhere you have to order a taxi from reception, no Ubers! Because of the location the hotel takes full advantage, a small shop on site and high prices. At dinner a small bottle of wine is 7 Euros, water 3 Euros. The buffet at breakfast is the same every day but not much vegan/vegetarian on offer. The buffet at dinner is ok albeit sometimes cold unless you get there at opening time 6.30pm. The swimming pools are ok, there is one inside, a small gym and a spa. The rooms are outdated and need modernising. No English channels. No decent coffee at the resort. Poor evening entertainment, we had 2 evenings out of 7! Please note the sun beds and umbrellas on the beach are not free of charge you have to buy something from the bars first, a coffee, a soft drink or alcohol. Depending upon how much you spend determines how close you can be to the sea! We spent 11 Euros yes for two coffees and could sit on the 5th row from the sea! So all in all although we had a peaceful time I would not return nor recommend."

"We stayed at Simantro Resort from September 19th to 27th with my partner, my mother and my younger sister. Positive aspects * There are three restaurants, one of which is a buffet restaurant. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious and had a great variety of food. It was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. * For lunch and dinner, we mostly ate at the restaurant next to the beach bar. The steak was really, really good — and, most importantly for me, it wasn’t chewy at all, which is a huge plus! The other dishes we tried were also tasty, and there were quite a few options to choose from. However, there wasn’t much choice when it came to fish. The platter with different kinds of fish was not available during our stay, so unfortunately we didn’t get to try it. * The beach is beautiful and sandy, and the sea was still warm even with around 19°C outside. * There is a small shop on the resort, which was very convenient as pretty much everything you might need was available on-site. * The tennis court was a nice way to spend some time and have fun, although it is about a 1 km walk from the hotel. * The staff were friendly and helpful. We were even given a small map showing the “must-see” places on the peninsula, and it genuinely felt like they were trying to help rather than simply giving us information because they had to. * The buffet breakfast is definitely worth it. * The hotel staff can arrange a rental car for you and help with the entire process, and no deposit is required. The cars available to us were around €65 per day. * The sun loungers on the beach are free to use, and fresh towels are provided every day. * There are several bars around the resort, and they definitely don’t go easy on the alcohol when making the drinks! 😂 Negative aspects * I saw several reviews mentioning this before our stay, and unfortunately I have to completely agree: the rooms really bring down the overall impression of the resort. * We didn’t book a suite, just a standard room, so we weren’t expecting anything luxurious. However, the coating on the bathtub was already coming off, which made the whole thing look permanently dirty even when it wasn’t. * There was visible mould on the bathroom ceiling. There was only a basic extractor fan in the bathroom and no window, which I assume contributed to the problem. * Housekeeping did come regularly, but there were times when they didn’t actually mop the floor and only changed the towels. When it rained, they didn’t come at all. * If you book the room without dinner included, the buffet dinner costs €27 per person, but drinks are not included. In my opinion, it isn’t really worth the price — the breakfast is a thousand times better. * The restaurant next to the beach bar had extremely slow service in the afternoon. There was one occasion when we were literally the only guests sitting there, yet we still had to wait around 30 minutes just for the bill. In my opinion, some of the dishes were also not particularly good value for money. Neutral / good to know * If you don’t have a car and don’t want to rent one, the nearest facilities outside the resort are about a one-hour walk away. So having a car is definitely useful. * The buffet restaurant serves essentially the same dishes every day, so I wouldn’t recommend going there every single day. In my opinion, the breakfast is still absolutely worth it, while the dinner is much less impressive. We didn’t try the lunch buffet. * At check-out, we had to wait almost 40 minutes for the receptionist because another guest was having an issue. Unfortunately, we were basically ignored during this time, and we almost missed our transfer because of it. Overall Overall, we really enjoyed our holiday at Simantro Resort and had a great time. The beach, food, staff and overall atmosphere were all very enjoyable. However, the rooms definitely need renovation, and this is the main reason the resort didn’t feel like a true 5-star hotel to us. With renovated rooms, the overall experience would be significantly better. Despite the issues, we had a lovely holiday and would definitely remember the resort for its beautiful beach, great breakfast and relaxing atmosphere."
