If you’re looking for a simple and comfortable base in Crete, look no further. Villa Ritsa is in the heart of Stalis, just a five-minute wander from the beach, with plenty of bars, cafes, and restaurants on route. The beach is a sandy stretch that’s well set up for sunbathing and watersports.
If you’re spending the day at the hotel, the pool is the place to be. The rectangular pool is surrounded by a collection of loungers and parasols, as well as neatly manicured gardens dotted with palm trees. The hotel has its own bar, which serves food and drinks all day long and has a pool table. For little ones, there’s a smaller shallow swimming spot set into the main sun terrace.
Rooms here are a mix of studios and apartments, and they’re all clean and bright. Each one has a private bathroom and a balcony or terrace, and there’s a kitchenette with a fridge and cooking rings if you fancy self-catering. Air conditioning is also available and is payable locally.

Home to one of the most beautiful beaches in Crete, it’s no wonder Stalis is renowned for its seaside fun. Located at the eastern end of the island on the north coast, alongside several other resort areas, Stalis has developed from a small fishing village to a vibrant town. You’ll undoubtedly spend lots of time on the beach on Stalis holidays. A 6.5-kilometre stretch of soft golden sand winds all the way to the town of Malia, and it’s well organised, with plenty of sunloungers and umbrellas to hire. There are cafés, tavernas and places to rent boats from, too.
