Vasia Sea Retreat

"The best things about this hotel are the staff and the location which is close enough to restaurants but just far enough from main port to be lovely and quiet. The staff are extremely kind and helpful but sometimes appeared so busy making sure things were perfect they hid any personality. The pool areas are extremely clean with great sunbeds. Sadly it is rather downhill from there. To say the photos of the premium rooms was artistic would be the least one could mention. The ground floor Seaview rooms need the curtains drawn all day for any privacy and the rear facing ground floor rooms have a view of a wooden fence and the upstairs ones mainly overlook scrubland not the village. The rooms are totally impractical with no wardrobes and very little storage, we had to just leave shoes under a unit. There is no where in the bathrooms to hang used towels so either they have to be put on the balcony airer or just left on chair in the room. The worst part of the rooms are the fact the hand basin is in the bedroom NOT the bathroom. Whilst breakfast was OK it was a little monotonous. Produce was mainly good but did not understand the odd things on the "breakfast to order" menu. We had dinner in the restaurant one evening but were very underwhelmed. The food was unseasoned and rather tasteless whilst calling two rolls a "selection of bread "was rather stretching things. We had intended to dine in their new a la carte restaurant on our wedding anniversary but it had a very strange menu . Expected some good Cretan dishes but it tried to appear health food but came across unappealing. Such a shame as the setting was lovely. All in all we enjoyed our holiday but doubt we will return to this hotel,"

"Situated in a peaceful area a short walk from town, the hotel shows a lot of attention to detail, from the stylish room decor to the good quality, nicely spaced out sunbeds. Our room and the pool areas were lovely and quiet - I suspect due to the time of year. The room was clean, with a big comfy bed and good shower - although we can't understand why the wash basin was in the bedroom rather than the bathroom, which was inconvenient and took up space in the bedroom. We could see the sea from our balcony, although unfortunately there was also a bit of a rubbish tip on the wasteland right opposite us! The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the buffet breakfast had everything you could want (although the food could have benefited from being hotter). Everything seemed clean and well kept. Would definitely recommend."

"A beautiful resort kept spotlessly clean by a staff for whom nothing is too much trouble. The breakfast is varied and plentiful and Nicos will learn your drinks order and bring it to you before you even ask. The restaurant serves Greek food with a twist that is delicious and beautifully presented. The two Marios will help with restaurant recommendations, taxis and advice on anything. The resort is on the edge of Sissi within easy walk of several good tavernas and a large supermarket and only a little further to the main part of town where there is everything you could need. Highly recommended . The pool bar was a great place to escape the sun."
