Melissa Apartments

"We stayed at the Melissa apartments for 10 days, myself my husband and our two children aged 14 and 12. We have stayed in many hotels over the years but this one beats them all. I would highly recommend staying here and we hope to return next year. It is in an excellent location in the old town and everything is a short walk away. It is family run and they are warm and welcoming.. It has a lovely relaxed environment and is spotless. The pool area is beautiful with lots of sun beds. It is the family who make Melissa apartments a very special place."

"The location of the hotel is great, you are very close to the strip and the old town. It is a fair walk to the beach, but we knew that before booking, so it wasn't an issue. The hotel rooms vary vastly; we had 3 twin rooms, and the size and layout were completely different in all 3. The aircon is 7 euros a night, which wouldn't be an issue except on the first night we arrived at 11:30 pm and were told we could not pay it until the morning, which meant we barely slept as it was incredibly hot in the room. Security varied night by night, but one guard in particular took a strong dislike to my group. The group was 5 guys and 1 girl. Anytime after 11pm, even if we spoke quietly on the balcony, we would get screamed at, but there was a very loud group of girls who would be screaming and laughing (not that it bothered us), having predrinks that were not asked to be quiet once. At one point, the girls invited us to have a drink with them, and security chased the boys in my group with a flashlight, telling them to get inside of their own rooms. The actual rooms were tidy enough, there was only two of each plate/cup/utensil but nothing to wash up with and the cleaners didn't replace them so we had to buy our own washing up equipment."

"The apartments themselves are spacious and well maintained and spotlessly clean, with towels and sheets regularly changed and rubbish removed daily. The family are all very welcoming and hospitable. As per the description above there are a lot of repeat visitors with some returning for many many years. We will definitely return. Location is great at the edge of the old town and within easy reach of restaurants and supermarkets, cafes and shops. A great location for exploring and walking."
