Mrs Chryssana Beach Hotel

"We landed 2 hours late thanks to Jet2 on arrival to the hotel a envelope was pinned to the reception door for us letting us know room number key and information inside Room, WOW we had a ground floor one what a wonderful surprise how nice the interior is and very clean lovely walking shower and the AC is really good Food, what can I say we stayed in many places around the world and must say that the food we ate was so delicious and fantastic every day well done to the staff who work so hard in the kitchen pool, pool area is big and plenty of sunbeds and a nice pool bar beach is just across the road which is all stones We had a really nice week at this wonderful hotel and will be back Thank you to all the staff for making us feel so welcome to this lovely little gem ♥️"

"The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Really nice and pleasant. Unfortunately the rooms let the hotel down. Whilst clean they were very dated and poorly layed out. The doors all slam and constantly bang during the night. The balconies all over look each other and you can see into people’s rooms. The most strange thing is that the bathroom sink is actually not in the bathroom but in the bedroom, so when you use the toilet you have to leave the bathroom to wash your hands next to the bed which is not very hygienic. Of course at night that means you have to turn the lights on in the main room to wash your hands waking everyone up with the sound of running taps and bright lights. There was a smell of sewage in the bathroom. We were supposed to have a double room, but we had a twin room where the beds could not be pushed together because of the frame. You can also hear everything in the neighbouring rooms. The layout was very strange in that the TV is not opposite the bed but next to the balcony doors. The fridge is extremely noisy. The staff said they were fully booked and we could not get a different room. Breakfast was basically the same thing every day, dinner had a bit more to offer and the occasional nice dish but would have liked to see more authentic Greek food. Sea view means you have to go on the balcony, look over the other balconies, over the swimming pool, power lines and trees to the see the view. If you don’t mind a very stony beach it’s for you but there was a lot of rubbish in the pebbles and stones, I would travel to a nicer beach. Location is very remote but there is a bus service that goes to Chania. It’s not the hotel’s fault but there is an unsightly, what has become a rubbish dump almost next to the hotel which we had to walk past several times. I would definitely recommend hiring a car."

"The Chrysanna is a hidden gem! We arrived at midnight to find our keys sellotaped to the reception door which straight away meant we knew this was a peaceful and safe hotel. The staff are amazing; so friendly and helpful and even treated our party to a lunch on our last day which was so kind. The pool is huge! And has a rare deep end so our teenagers could enjoy jumping in and often had it to themselves. Kolymbari is a beautiful and laid back village and the Chrysanna is well placed to enjoy it all. Thankyou to all the staff for their hospitality ."
