"As a seasoned traveller, this hotel may not be as flash & cosmopolitan as some resorts. However, it has heart. The staff are like a family and are super personable, efficient and can't do enough for you. We are 2 friends who have been annuallyv leaving our partners at home and going away together for 54 years. Always felt safe and welcome. Hotel is spotlessly clean, cleaners to be commended. It's an unusual layout, not huge but some super relaxing areas. It's prime location on the beach in walkng distance to a tiny village with some lovely beach side tavernas & a few shops. Food is excellent, lots of choice, gorgeous salads & fruit. Zoe is a maitre di par excellence. She is the soul of this hotel. Remembers everyones name & table no. Genuinely wants to ensure your stay is perfect. Yannis always smiling, cooked us perfect omelettes on request. Waiters are all amazing. Special shout out to Andreas, what charm & charisma made everyones day? He remembers your drink, name and makes you customised cocktails. Perfect barman. 🍹 we wish him huge congratulations for his wedding next year. Plenty of sunbeds on the beach, ones by pool usually taken early but later in afternoon we found available as we went out most days. Madeleine another hard worker served us with our drinks if we didn't want to work short distance to the bar 😉 Our room was superb, a sea view junior suite with comfy balcony chairs. Super comfy bed plus robes & slippers. Entertainment was limited but we knew it was not a party party hotel. We met some fabulous fellow guests who were like minded, also enjoying the relaxation of the beautiful hotel, resort and lovely conversations. We used bus 3 days to visit Chania and other resorts. Stops right outside hotel. Efficient but gets very crowded so we shared a taxi with another couple from the hotel 45 euros 30 mins. Easier journey. Chania fabulous well worth the trip. Super architecture tavernas and quant shops. Another shout out for the hard working receptionist. Very friendly & helpful. Zoe was training a new relief for her at busy times and she will be also another receptionist. Yannis, we could see she will be another gem & with Zoe as her teacher will go far. There are not many hotels we would return to but this one stands out and we definitely would rebook. Well done team. Keep up the sterling work making our holidays perfect 👍"

"After a 2hr coach transfer from the airport we arrived at the hotel to be greeted with the manager telling us there was a technical issue with our room and we had to stay in another hotel for the night,and we would be collected at 12 the next day,there were 4 couples and a single traveller told this,40 mins later the taxi finally arrived to take us to the other hotel,we were collected at 12 the next day along with 10 more people,15 in total had to stay in the other hotel due to technical issues! When we finally got our room at Giannoulis grand bay we were extremely happy,we had a direct pool access with balcony and sun loungers.The hotels staff are amazing and can’t do enough to make your stay perfect it’s just a shame that we had such a bad start to what turned out to be a very relaxing holiday"
